Ugh. The beach.
Where was civilization? There wasn't nothin' here! There was only sand far as her eye could see — well, sand and debris; dried up old trees, branches tangled in seaweed, everything in the process of being stripped clean of its bark. Nothing to denote a crew settlin' anywhere.
Farren kept to the intermediate section of the beach, keeping well clear of the tide but also below the band of discarded shells. Head down, truffle-piggin' it along the waste-line where she hoped to find a crab or two. It was unlikely, but what the heck was a wench to do fer food?
