the wedding celebrations had left the yearling yearning for the quiet of solitude. she slipped past the borders of the forest to the deep snowfall of a neighboring territory.

it was there she found the beauty of snow laden fields. hills rolling with waves of pure white, tracks dotted amongst them as creatures crossed the meadow.

flurries decended upon her causing a burst of joy and girlish giggles as she pranced through the open land. velia felt as if she were a child again, sticking her tongue from her mouth and waiting to catch the snowflakes upon it as they fell around her.
