She dreamed about Sialuk, though it was more like walking through a memory. Her anaa slid her muzzle nearer to her daughter’s ear and whispered something into it. Just as they had in life, her mother then pressed her forehead against Treepie’s and pulled her into a hug. Pie woke then, the spot between her eyes still tingling.

She yawned and stretched in the mouth of Sialuk’s ulaq, then walked outside and immediately sniffed the crisp morning air. Spring would officially arrive soon, though there was no hope of new life blossoming on the mountain slopes… unless, of course, her taataa decided to stay with Amalia. She didn’t want to hope, lest it crush her when they left, but the fact that they remained…

Blinking and shaking her head, Tiuttuk thought of her dream as she went looking for @Alaric. They were long overdue now for a conversation. And despite her firm resolve to temper her expectations about what the future might bring, she felt the shadow slink back from her spirit as sunlight and songbirds stroked her ears while she searched.
