solharr watched her go, the soft rustle of her steps barely audible against the wind. for a moment, he stood still, his eyes fixed on the space where she had been. he had no words to offer her now; only the quiet assurance that his offer stood.

until then, he muttered to himself, the words hanging in the air, slipping away like a breath caught in frost. he didn't doubt she would return, not truly. something in the way she had spoken, the way she had not closed the door completely, told him that the quarry would become a place for her too. whether it was to stand, to stay, or to test her place there, solharr could not say. but he knew it wasn’t the end of their path.

he turned his gaze back to the quarry, the cold stone beneath his paws steady, grounding him as it always had. whatever was to come, he would face it with strength, with loyalty—perhaps, even with her at his side. for now, he would wait. for now, there was peace in knowing she had not fully walked away.
