The boy was thrust unceremoniously towards him. Nox peered through narrowed eyes to assess the state of him; blood crusted every orifice, slicking his bruised and battered and broken body so much so that the Captain almost felt a surge of pity. Almost. 

His attention snapped back to the woman ahead, meeting her darkening gaze with a sceptical look of his own. "We ain't got any neighbours." Rodyn's plateau had grown quiet. Perhaps then, this woman came from inland? If the boy carried a familiar scent, it was lost beneath the muck and the gore, and he could taste only the same iron on her.

A dark paw reached to kick the near-corpse roughly aside. "An' yer gift will be dead by next daylight." Nox would not deny the opportunity to tie up a loose end, but it looked like mother nature could take care of this one.
