Naaghai Lowlands a pretty girl with bouffont hair

Journey's head whipped up when someone barrelled toward her — or, toward the water, as it turned out. She watched in amusement as the boy (young, but already bigger than her) drank his fill, not quite judging, since she had spent plenty of time being thirsty in the desert, herself. She waited patiently for him to finish, and was still quiet when his eyes finally found her.

"Hello there," she said, a smile on her voice and in her eyes, even as the rest of her remained impassive. She liked to play the ice queen, but she could never quite manage not to be friendly. "You were sure thirsty. Walk a long way?"

She imagined so; he smelled like the road, and like many strange people and places. She trotted closer, wanting to get a better sniff — but kept her eyes peeled for any over-protective mothers.
