Bramblepoint caught herself a somewhere wind

Their search led them to the base of a tired-looking old tree, and Alivia's hunting partner began sniffing around, clearly interested. Alivia joined in, and her enthusiasm redoubled once she saw what he saw: evidence of prey nearby. She didn't think to look up into the branches of the tree until he did, and her eyes landed on the bird a moment after his. 

She reared up energetically, placing her forepaws on the truck of the weathered oak. How were they supposed to get that thing down? She whined in frustration.
