Her head turned eastward as she swore she detected a familiar trace, though the wind shifted and it seemed to vanish into the ether.

By the time she looked back, Alaric had disappeared deeper into the woods. Pie didn’t worry. He should explore to his heart’s content. She would just stay here, so he could find his way back to her eventually. In the meantime, Treepie tried to relax against the scratchy bark of the tree, Wyvern chittering every now and again directly overhead.
