Turning his head, he spotted Safiya. It bothered him that he couldn't quite place when she had arrived.

Kemal pushed out a breath, lifting his head to greet her. He had taken a liking to the girl months ago during their spar, and none of the anger he felt was directed her way. Safiya.

He would calm himself for now. His anger was unsightly, crude, and Kemal felt that it would be wrong to show her what might be going on with him beyond what he might say. It was not her burden.
