Something pinched her awake. Tiuttuk started, blinking and snorting, and saw Wyvern hopping backward away from her. The wolf’s head tilted as she regarded the nightjar, surprised to see her up close and personal like this. If they’d shared this sort of proximity before, she couldn’t remember. But after taking a moment to wake up and ascertain the situation, she welcomed it.
The nighthawk made no reply, though she dipped and spread her wings, then launched into the air. It was Pie’s turn to take a few steps backward, the wind from Wyvern’s wings brushing her face. She tilted her head and watched the bird gain altitude, then begin circling. She gave a wordless cry, though some part of Treepie understood what it meant.
Wyvern led her to a ledge overlooking the sprawling wilderness to the east of the mountain. But Pie paid little attention to the views. Wyvern had led her here for a reason and her yellow gaze quickly found it. She watched as her sister convened with a stranger, her hackles prickling warily even as she watched the distant exchange. Only when their heads turned did she notice the mountain goats below them.
There’s no need to pinch me, though, she muttered as she unfolded her slender limbs and pushed upright. She shook out her colorful coat, eyes still fixed on the hawk.
Can’t you just… tickle my nose with a feather or something instead?Pie griped through a smile, tail twitching.

Coming!she called up to the bird, then shook out her paws and broke into a trot.

Could you use a third?she called out to them, not waiting for a response before she began to climb down toward Tiki and her makeshift hunting partner.
