She's on her way to Great Sky, though she does not know it yet.
If she'd not had so much practice carrying it, the old fur in which she'd slung her traveling supplies would have been too much for such a distance. Even with the strength of her jaws, however, they ached from the weight. She had to stop every now and then to rest them, as she was doing right now.

The land was rolling with hills, but from her current vantage point, she could see decently well around her. Well enough that being snuck up on would not be a problem. Well enough that she could see the elk milling in the distance, having stopped for a rest and a forage themselves.

Atop her little hill, Angel stretched her aching jaw and her tired legs, and then settled on her side. She was getting hungry, but she was not yet in the mood to hunt. Instead, she watched her herd in the distance, just barely able to see the pale white plumes of their breath. It was a beautiful sight — one that always seemed to mesmerize her.
