When she outlined what he should do, the boy obliged. It was easier to lay on his side and lift each paw to her attention than to stand, and less demeaning than laying sprawled upon his back. So he slumped against the ground, careful to avoid too many sticks and rocks, and then lifted one of his front paws. As she tended to it, Sylvaine felt a bit out of place by the silence.
Will this take long?The boy queried, his tone light but tired. He still did not realize she was someone of great importance, otherwise he would have been a bit more charming - but for now, Syl saw this medicine woman as a simple servant, unworthy of any in-depth attention.
