Elwood agreed to join him and Peregrine motioned for the Beta to follow him, then began loping toward the outskirts of the caldera. "What's on the menu today?" he mused aloud to himself as he trotted jauntily toward a favorite game trail. He glanced sideways at his companion, scrutinizing him. "We could take on something bigger than a rabbit but smaller than a doe. I'm feeling up to a challenge. Wanna try wrangling a raccoon or something?" he proposed. Really, they would hunt whatever prey presented itself but it was fun to shoot the shit while they waited to discover a scent.
