To say that Cutthroat had been surprised that Njal had actively sought him out to go on a mixture of an outrider/raid party made up of three other Creek wolves was the world’s largest understatement. At first the inky pirate felt suspicion; then, slowly, as Njal’s words began to sink into the Tortuga native’s head while it certainly didn’t make much sense it had became obvious that it wasn’t some ploy to kill him. Njal was serious in that he actually wanted Cutthroat along on the journey. At least Cutthroat likened Njal seeking him out to wanting the Pirate to join them on their little mission. Feeling as if he did not have much choice, coupled with his desire to prove that he could be trustworthy and that he meant no one harm in Swiftcurrent the Slave agreed, and joined with the others when they had set off.

It became apparent to the Creek wolves — if the howls that had rang through the air were of any indication — that Ferdie and Jace had created their own little renegade pack nearby. Dubloon colored eyes focused upon Njal as he spoke to them, clueing them in on the ultimate game plan. While Cutthroat chose not to voice it — partially because he didn’t want to get even further on Njal’s bad side than he felt he already was — he wondered what they were supposed to do if they did get caught. It sounded easy. Get in, complete the mission, get out. There was always a chance that they were suspicious and waiting, or that they would catch on fairly quick and catch up.

They were ordered to stay together and Cutthroat nodded at Njal’s orders and clung to the shadows were he blended in well, sticking close to their little group as was ordered, ears, nose and eyes all alert as he followed in the ascension up the mountain.
