mathieu's emotions soared across the spectrum before he could even begin to understand why. he opened his mouth to say something — say something! — but instead smiled, opening and closing his mouth like an idiot. did this mean that simmik liked him, too? and if that is what it meant, then what did that mean?

he cleared his throat and pulled his voice from wherever it had been hiding. adding some masculine bass to his tone, matty (trying to pretend he was totally cool and not sporting a grin to rival the sun) said: i'm gonna...go...now.
