Hoping to thread with one of the Sleeping Dragon pack members.

The seasons had officially changed an a layer of white fluffy snow could be seen on almost every terrain. The snow crunched under Rouges weight as her paw prints were left in the snow. The cold air was relaxing and clean in a way as Rouge breathed it in and saw a stream cloud leave her nostrils and muzzle as she exhailed.

She had approtched the cliff from the side and avoided the difficult climb up the rocky terrian. The forest floor was lightly covered as a majority of the snow had fallen atop the trees. Being away from the pack was still more comfortable to her then being within the territory and even though shehad been assigned to a task, she felt she had some free reign when it came to how it was done.

Being in the area she could tell their had been a wolf/wolves here. How many and how recent were a bit more fuzzy to her. The scent and paw prints were being masked by the sheet of snow. She padded along with her head low to sniff the ground. The snow flaked speckled her ebony coat.

She spent the majority of her time patrolling the borders, knowing it was the duty of a guardian— something she hoped to be someday, though she had yet to fight anyone. Sparring would come later, when Drageda had reestablished itself here. It was an exciting time, but the dark wraith hoped they would settle into a sense of normalcy soon. There was much for her to learn from the members of her new pack, but none of them seemed to have time to mentor her. It was an exercise in patience.

The snow lent itself to seeing wolves of darker coats especially well, and when she saw a black silhouette approach, she immediately altered course. Although she had made an error with Seregryn, the yearling knew she could not falter in her diligence— it was better to ward off trespassers and risk irritating a wolf known to the commander than to allow a ne'er-do-well within their borders.

Her lips pulled back to show flashing teeth as she approached, the guard hairs along her spine standing at their ends. Emaleth held her tail high behind her, her movements rigid with dominance. "You trespass, vagabon. State your business or go."

Eske is not the first one to greet the stranger traipsing through their territory, sniffing around where they were liable to lose their life for it. Outsiders is not something that Eske deals with well and trespassers are so much worse. Though she does not recognize the ebony form of the woman, who smelled of the Bandrona and freshly of Drageda she knows that she is new. Still, Eske does not relent. To her, despite her acceptance, Emaleth is an outsider (for now) but Eske turns her sea blue-green gaze from her to the other raven coated woman: a stranger that definitely did not belong. The Kru spoke a warning, and Eske approached the Kru's flank, the Goufa's tail high over her back, her hackles bristled.

gon we o wan op The Gona in training commanded in her native tongue knowing even as the familiar and favored language left her lips that it would not likely be understood. “Leave or die.” Came the Goufa's threat in the common tongue. Common tongue was an infuriating necessity. The currently unnamed Kru had issued the first warning: state your business or go. Eske wasn't so nice. Eske's warning was the second. And if the agouti Goufa had her way: it would be the trespasser's last warning. Eske had no desire to hear the woman's words but she stilled the twitch of her muscles, begging to be released and put her sparring and training into real world action. Eske reminded herself that knowledge was, in and of itself, power and this was enough to temporarily curb her aggressive tendencies, ready to give chase and if necessary: kill. Of course, that was only as good as if the trespasser complied to the Kru's demand.

murgash couldn't decide the true motive for why he was following rouge. on the one hand, dat ass yo -- on the other, he had been so busy pleasing big stripey boss he hardly had time for life's simpler pursuits. i mean, come on, how many wolves hand-deliver a pilfered pup to your doorstep? he needs a raise, like STAT.

he hadn't decided when he planned on telling rouge that he was creeping her either - girls typically tended not to enjoy that kind of stuff, which meant he would have to stop at some point.. and murgash was enjoying the view too much to give it up..

until he saw two wolves.

two wolves that, he decided in that instant, were a lot more mean looking than he. one reminded him of the strange orcas that taunted him in the sound, what with her dark and white clashed plumage. the other just looked like enough of an adolescent hardass that murgash was oddly aroused.

it was then he decided to break his cover, if only for rouge's sake. he was sure to get a beating, and not on the body part he preferred beatings. "well HALOOO laydees." he announced with a loud purl, strutting his bare ass towards them as if he were the king of chutzpah and hadn't just heard that ominous 'leave or die' ultimatum. "wot d'we have here? oi can't decoide which one of ye is more beautifuller to look at.."

he flashed the trio his most winsome smile -- except for murgash, 'winsome' usually entailed 'drooly and disgusting'.

Tanja had been born along the shores of Seageda, he knew the dangers of the raging sea and of the deadly cliffs. This land was not his birth place but it felt like home more than the mountain ever could. He had instantly taken a liking to the territory the moment he set off on his first patrol, and the excitement of claiming new land could very well be the workaholic's favorite situation. There was so much do to the he could practically jump with excitement, he would finally have something to keep him busy.

He was itching for a good spar and when he coincidentally came across not one but two intruders, well let's just say that was the icing on the cake. Tanja was well aware of the two Drageda females that were already on the scene, so instead of facing the trespassers head on he hung in the distance like a shadow and was prepared to offer support if necessary. He had already witnessed first hand that Eske was capable of handling herself in these types of situations but the other dark furred female who smelt faintly of Heda was a complete mystery to him. Either way whether he was needed or not, it would be foolish of the strangers to test the limits of Drageda warriors.

So to sum things up this thread was created before Drageda was officially claimed, but only by like 4 hours. I'm not very good with keeping up with other packs IC changes and because of OOC info, I didn't know Drageda was so close to being claimed. [Sry about that]
Going forward with the thread, the Dragenda pack can proclaim this to be their territory and Rouge won't call their bluff or argue with them, but the border wasn't completly marked yet. Hope that's an OK compromise for the time.

It almost seemed like deja vu, Rouge was once again walking into a new place and being proclaimed a tresspasser without Rouge even knowing she was in anothers territory. She thought she should be more vigilent but could have sworn she smelled no border. All the sudden two wolves had come up to her and asked her business and for her to leave. Along with another wolf having come up from behind her.

The male comming from behind her smelled of her pack but she had never meet him. He went on to talk about how pretty her and the other female was. She thought of her options. This could get hostile rather quickly and Rouge saw no real need for this to become a full fledged fight on her part. They were protecting a territory and she was simply scouting. But the first wolf that approtched asked her to speak while the other asked her to leave. She thought to speak and if the other male were to become hostile she wouldn't hesitate to flea.

She knew they considered her a tresspasser, meaning they were part of a pack, but which pack. Rouge moved away from the male that had followed her. Rouge's pelt was new to her pack and would smell less like her pack members, maybe enough so that they wouldn't be associated. The distance between them could disacociate them as she didn't know his intentions. Looking directly as the female but still keeping a eye out for if her male companion became agressive, she said "I'm sorry I didn't know there was a pack here. I was just passing through." she tucked her ears back and hung her tail low. The major jist of what she had learned.

Thuringwethil noted the unfamiliar scent leading into the territory and the curve of her lips flashed a warning to no one in particular. It will take several days before she is comfortable with the claim they have made and their two closet neighbors are unlikely to cause a problem. They may need to force a new barrier with the grotto but their intention is no less sound than it had been upon the Dragon. The location of the other is unknown to her but she remembers the inky male in the ravine and makes note to attempt another visit once again.

The concern at hands takes over as she follows along, eventually coming upon a mix of voices and smells. They’d already been intercepted, facing Eske and Emaleth and, she narrows her eyes, Tanja in the distance. Thuringwethil approaches from the opposite side, watching the intruders from behind him with little to announce her presence. It is the female whose words she hears clearly for the first time as she states her ignorance. A growl rumbles in her throat and her fur ruffles down the length of her spine.

Although Emaleth certainly didn't like that the woman was crossing the borders they were attempting to establish, she was willing to grant her the patience that Wildfire had given her— but this patience didn't extend to the predatory male, who's speech was both crude and rude. If it hadn't been for the others of Drageda that had come to join her, the yearling would not have been so brave. Except for the commander, the rest were unfamiliar except that they smelled like they should have. Her posture remaining tall, the dark she-wolf loosed a warning growl, and took a careful step toward the female that had apologized.

Emaleth inhaled slowly, capturing a more concentrated scent-- for the pair smelled familiar to the youth, but she was having trouble placing it. They smelled of the sea and faintly of sequoias, and the heady scent of a male she had met only briefly. There were only two packs along the coast to the south that Emaleth was aware of, and none in the hundreds of miles between them and these cliffs. She glanced at the commander, willing her to understand a silent message-- I know of these wolves,-- so that when she spoke again, it would not be punished later.

"You are long from your home," she commented, not being able to measure the distance in miles, but knowing the trek from Donnelaith to these cliffs would take five days for even the fastest of wolves pushing themselves to the limits of their body. "How fare the Depths?" she queried, knowing she could be wrong but risking it anyway. Without giving them the space to answer, she continued, "Could you bring my sister, Deirdre of Donnelaith, a message when you return? Tell her that I am safe." This was asked with a bit of anxiety, for the guilt that lay there. Would her sister even want to know, even care?

As a male joined the ebony woman on her escapade through lands soon to be claimed by Drageda, strutting as if and making remarks of their beauty Eske does not hide her harsh scowl of disgust. It was not their beauty he should be concerned with and her lip curled back to reveal her teeth, a low growl rumbling in her throat as her tail swept against her hocks. She desired to ghost forth, to pack as much warning behind the gesture as she could but she remained where she stood. Tanja’s scent entered the gathering, followed by Heda whose low growl communicated her displeasure at the female trespasser’s words.

The Kru near her, whose name she did not know, spoke again this time acting as ambassador. Letting them know (as if they did not already) that they were far from home. So she knew them. Or, rather, of them. Regardless, this made no difference to Eske who wanted them gone. A low snort left her black, leathery nostrils as she watched them, skeptical of the woman’s words, though her gaze leveled between the two, not wanting to let either out of her sight for too long.

murgash, although smiling, had very seriously considered the situation: already it was perilous, and with each wolf that arrived the odds were pushed further from their favor. he hoped his sunny attitude and handsome visage (okay, that's a hyperbole) would have balmed these salty ladies, but it served only to further sour their expressions.

it's a compliment, doe -- a compliment. murgash felt his tail flag as his compliment sunk with all the heaviness of a stone in water. tough crowd today. the gulls would have appreciated his humor. they would have at least laughed.

he wasn't convinced he and his comrade were safe, so as she spoke he looked at each wolf carefully. they were almost all female, a factor that excited murgash. his mind needed no urging, and already he was considering the possibility of a very lovely menage-a-trois.. until a male crashed the party. he wasn't exactly thrilled with tanja's arrival  (I SEEN THEM FIRST!) but hey, he was a generous lover and could fit him in if he was nice.

if he was nice.

speaking of nice, it was so very nice that the dark wolf had acknowledged how far they had travelled. murgash took over for his friend right there and then and nodded furiously: "roight, see we've traoveld a verry lowng way en wei're toired.. soo... if ye'd be so koind we'll be goin' now." he interjected, placing himself directly in front of rouge to encourage her to R U N N O F T. of course.. if she didn't, he'd do it himself. he didn't really know who the wolf was that the orca-wolf was referring to, and besides, that sounded like extra work and murgash really wasn't about the assisted detail life.

it didn't take a genius to figure out that none of these wolves looked friendly or even like they'd be fun hostesses -- so unless a stripper popped out of a cake soon, murgash was leaving.

He made no move to get any closer to the commotion but left it to the capable women of Drageda to show the strangers off. He was there if they needed him but with the unexpected addition of Heda, Tanja figured they could handle themselves. Yet he remained in the distance, his cold eyes locked onto the foolish trespassers. Whatever excuses they had managed to muster up went in one ear and out the next.

He was not interested in hearing anything they had to say, so it was quite a shock when one of his own packmates decided to speak with the very outsiders he wished to be rid of. Tanja couldn't stop the growl the rumbled within his chest while his eyes narrowed on the inky packmate he did not recognize. He took a step forward, tail risen and fangs revealed in a silent warning for the trespassers to scamper off. After all, intruders were not meant to be conversed with but were to be sent fleeing with their tails between their legs.

The first female that had approtched seemed to be less hostile then all the rest and infact began a conversation. She seemed to know where they were from and asked that a message be sent to her sister about her well being. Rouge had been informed about the packs allies previously, but was uncurtain if she should relay the message in the future and thought she should speak to her alpha about the matter when she returned.

All the other wolves around her, besides the one of her pack were all growling and not being as hospitible. Rouge wasn't thinking of staying too much longer, she had been in this situation before and didn't want a repeat. But something very different happened this time. The male that had followed her from her pack spoke and put himself infront of her. Definatly not as an insult of any sort but as protection as it seemed.

This time when Rouge was up against a pack she had someone with her. Something she as a lone wolf had never experienced. She got the message and began to back away from the pack. She looked at the first female one more time, somewhat non verbally answering her question as to if she would relay her message with neither a yes or no but that Rouge knew she had asked. Lastly she looked at the male of her group then turned her back to run assuming he would follow close behind.

Skipping @Thuringwethil with permission. My last post in this thread.

She felt eyes on her, from both Drageda and the strays before them— but Emaleth stood her ground, for the desire to send a message back to her twin was important to the yearling. When the male spoke, it was without acknowledgment to her words, and the female merely acknowledged in silence that she had heard the request. Having neighbored these wolves, the Mayfair had not trusted them, and it was no different now. She hoped Deirdre would receive it, but struggled to make peace with the likelihood that she would not.

Knowing that she was surrounded by pack mates that were more suitable warriors than she, Emaleth turned and moved deeper into the cliffside territory with a small nod of acknowledgement in Thuringwethil's direction.

Going to let @Tanja reply once more before archiving so they can use it for a trade thread. <3

The wolves do not stay much longer, now that they are outnumbered, and the gross male announces their departure before they turn tail and run. Thuringwethil moves to follow them for a bit but she does not stay long, certain they will be on their way. She turns back toward the group of her own wolves and glances toward with a jerk of her nose to follow them out and make sure they are gone. Emaleth shares a knowing look and she nods once, seeing her off, and moves deeper into the territory once everything has been laid out.

His eyes never strayed from the intruders as they announced their departure and turned to leave. He was experienced enough to know to follow them until they were a good distance from Drageda. So with a nod to Thuringwethil to acknowledge her command, Tanja turned and started after the duo, making sure to follow them until they were a comfortable distance away. Once he returned to Drageda, Tanja made sure to mark the borders clearly so that there would be no more confusion as to whether or not this was free land.
