Foxglove did not know as much about herbs as @Forsythia did — but even so, it was impossible to grow up with an herbalist for a mother and not pick up a few things. What little she knew about pregnancy and childbirth, too, she'd learned from her mother, and from what she'd heard it was never an easy thing. Just the thought was enough to make her grimace.

She was careful not to grimace now, though, carrying an assortment of loose herbs she'd gathered somewhat haphazardly from the surrounding territories. Just some things to help the leader regain her strength. And, resting somewhat precariously between her shoulders, she carried another bundle: a mother rabbit and her brood, all freshly-killed and still rich with the smells of milk and new life.

Fox stopped uncertainly when she was a few paces from the den, calling out with a whine around the herbs she carried.

She was still feeling wary when Foxglove called out. Her children were still fresh, and Waawaashkeshi was terrified that the slightest misstep would cause them to shatter like a fragile sheet of ice. The little things were so precious, and such thoughts were a stab to her heart each time. Nonetheless, she returned the call with a low howl of her own. There was still room for Foxglove to squeeze into the den safely.

She was curious to hear the going-ons of the copse anyways, if anything had happened in her absence. She knew that when she was healed it would be a good idea to speak to the Summerwalkers, maybe announce the birth and introduce the new additions.

Foxglove let out a small breath she hadn't realized she was holding when Waawaashkeshi called back. She set the herbs on the ground first, then rolled her shoulders to let the rabbits fall one by one. Those she gathered up between her teeth, opting to bring food first. Herbs never sat well on an empty stomach.

I broughtcha shum shtuff, Fox announced, muffled by a mouthful of rabbit fur. She ducked into the den... only to stop short when she caught sight of the puppies nestled by the blonde leader's belly. Her eyes flew wide, ears standing straight in the air, and for a moment she could only stare.

The rabbits slid slowly from her slackened jaws. They each hit the ground with a soft thud. Foxglove took in a slow breath. Those came out of your butt? She blurted before she could stop herself, and immediately regretted it.

She was about to thank Foxglove for the meal she brought, the the words that came from the girl left her slack-jawed for only a moment. Well, no. She responded. They only came in the early morning, so I know they aren't much yet.. but would you like to meet them? The storyleader asked with a small smile. She was rather eager to show off her babes.

Two daughters, and a son. Each seemed to be in good health, happily suckling and napping just the way puppies should - already they were looking plump. Waawaashkeshi could not be happier, the Summerwalkers were thriving and her children would thrive with it.

a stranger enters the den for the first time, but kogi is fast asleep, missing the entirety of the event. instead, he sleeps soundly against his mother. he wakes for a moment or two, though there is no sign of it from the outside, as his eyes are still sealed tightly shut. he shifts in his sleep, wiggles just a bit to find a more comfortable position, then is back to the dreamworld in a matter of seconds.

Nagamo was awake, though only just. The blonde-furred pup strained to lift her head, sniffing at the new scent that had joined those of her family. The steady warmth of her mother’s side, and her brother’s comfortable sleep, lulled her back to calm. She joined him in slumber soon after.
