Mature Content Warning

This thread has been marked as mature. By reading and/or participating in this thread, you acknowledge that you are of age or have permission from your parents to do so.

The participants have indicated the following reason(s) for this warning: continued flustering
The dizzy feeling was coming back, hot and sweet and urgent. When she moved against him, squirming as if in discomfort, he preened at her instead of just breathing in her scent, his teeth pinching gently, experimentally.

Kindle breathed out a juddering sigh, a low, quiet sound escaping his throat along with it.

He pulled a paw out from between them to drape it over her back, curling his toes to scrape his claws against her fanning ribcage. There were black stars obscuring his vision, and he felt disconnected from his auditory and visual senses. All that mattered was the scent and taste and feel of the moment — though he heard her words and understood them in a distant sort of way.

His own vocabulary had dwindled. He could not think of the right words to ask what she wanted, or for what he wanted, or even to describe such acts. His searching muzzle and grasping claws begged tacitly for permission instead, stalled as he was in this moment, desire and uncertainty warring between body and mind.

He didn’t say anything, though the heated look in his eye spoke volumes. He shifted a foreleg and draped it over the slim jut of her shoulder blade. Treepie’s stomach swooped. She pressed back against every point where they touched, welcoming him to tug her into his grasp if he wished.

She wanted him to mount her, she realized, as their bodies naturally drifted toward alignment. But Tiuttuk wasn’t sure she was ready for what came after that. The idea of Kindle pulling her underneath himself and having his way with her sent another blast of heat through her slender body. But would their bodies actually fit together the way they both hoped?

The fear that they would not made her stomach sink and the fire inside her bank abruptly. Gently, she pulled away from Kindle’s grappling forelimbs and stepped away from his touch. The cold that swept in felt brutal. She swiveled swiftly, reaching out to brush her muzzle against his, peppering his mouth with little flicks of her tongue.

I don’t, she began between kisses, amending, I want to. I want you. But… She pushed their noses together, then drew back a little to speak properly. I’m not ready to try that yet. Can we just… cuddle, for now? I was really enjoying it, she insisted, shifting foreward and trying to press up against Kindle’s chest again by sliding her head beneath his.

Brutal was right. One moment the stars (and everything else) were aligning, and the next she slipped from his grasp entirely. His claws caught on her fur only for a moment before he forced himself to release her.

There was a hunting, mulish look in his eyes when she turned back to him. The push and pull was aggravating, and his frustration mounted each time they seemed to grow close, only to have her draw away. It was a cruel game, in his mind, but not one he was entirely adverse to.

The look faded quickly enough under her attention, though he peeled back his lips a fraction to try and catch hers in a harmless nip.

His teeth were kinder when she returned to him more fully, tucking herself back against him, if not quite back into his embrace. Ardor cooled back to reasonable levels, he groomed her more or less chastely.

"Me too," he replied, a bit pointedly — but his tail beat the ground, and he tucked his face against her fur to nuzzle her a little more tenderly. Of course it was alright. They were only just trying these things out, and there was no need to rush things. No need except the one he felt quite insistently when he breathed in her scent, at least.

Slowly, his heartbeat began to steady — though it still skipped the odd beat whenever the wind stirred just right.

She didn’t have time to register the nip before she found herself tucked up against him, though the sensation of his teeth combing through her fur sparked that inner fire again. Treepie was standing up now, meaning there was way to hide her desire without compromising her position with Kindle. She refused to pull away from him again, so instead she pressed her hot face into the crook of his neck and hoped he would (not?) notice.

His heartbeat steadied her and her own fervor shrunk back to more of a cozy flame. Pie remained pressed up against him, her face hidden, for a little while. When she eventually peeked out and made a movement, it was only to sidestep and sink down onto her haunches beside him. She pressed her flank to his, let her cheek settle against his deliciously masculine shoulder.

I want to try that, she murmured toward his ear, with you. And I know… you know… about my anatomical situation. She blushed, drawing in a breath. I don’t know how well it’ll work, she reluctantly admitted, and… I’m a little scared it won’t. I know saying ‘it’s not you, it’s me’ is so lame… but… well… She shrugged a little helplessly. Her breath shook a little as she eked out, I needed you to know that.

He was glad to be able to pay attention the next time she spoke — and then immediately embarrassed when he realized he'd forgotten there might be any difficulty. Of course he was aware (it'd been right in his face, after all), but he was so caught up with wanting, and so terribly inexperienced, that everything seemed about as doable or perhaps undoable as the next thing.

He realized anew that he didn't really know, in this situation, what the proper protocol was. His mother hadn't accounted for this possibility in her talk, and relations with other men had been excluded as well.

"I'll try anything," he told her, though some of the possibilities made his heart rate spike with equal parts anxiety and interest. "I think we can figure something out that feels right, probably — but I guess I wonder... Y'know."

When he was thinking clearly, it was something he kept coming back around to.

"If we'd be able to have kids," he said in a rush. "Theoretically, I mean. I'll try anything you want — but I don't... I don't think I can get pregnant, is all."

He pulled back just a little, to try and get a look at her face.

"But I know we don't know," he told her, reiterating this. It wasn't a shock to him, even if it was hard to keep in mind in the moment.

He said he would try anything, which earned a slight cant of Treepie’s head. She wondered what else he had in mind, besides the obvious, but he trailed off. She’d been so caught up in whether she could perform the standard song and dance, she hadn’t even stopped to consider all the other ways to romp.

Her lips parted to say something about it when he brought up kids. Naturally, this captured her attention singularly. Her heart clenched in her chest as Kindle spoke… hypothetically, of course, but he was still talking about their children. She was so caught up on this fact, she almost missed his comment about pregnancy.

When it did land, she blinked. Of course he couldn’t get pregnant. He was a man. If he’d somehow shared her unique physicality, he would’ve mentioned it previously. Some part of Treepie wanted to laugh at the absurdity of his comment, though she wasn’t entirely sure he was joking. In fact, she decided he mustn’t be; he looked entirely too earnest about it.

Don’t worry, I plan to be the one who gets knocked up, she said with a decidedly crooked smile. At least, that’s the hope… one day, Pie continued, somewhat wistfully. It’s all up to nature, I guess, and nothing’s even possible until next spring… It was her turn to trail off for a moment. I don’t want to wait until then to try, though. I want to figure it out, like you said. Together.

If things didn’t work, she wondered who would be more disappointed. Me, she thought a little grimly, before setting that thought aside. They had already mutually agreed that said figuring wouldn’t happen tonight. For now, they would simply enjoy the intimacy of one another’s company… and the delight of discovering this new dynamic which had sprung up between them.

Kindle, Treepie said a little suddenly, catching his eye, something else you should know about me, if I haven’t said it already, is that monogamy is important to me. If we’re going to explore this road together, I want to be with you properly. I’m not asking for a commitment, just… It took her a moment to find the right word. Exclusivity.

It was something of a relief when Treepie swept the possibility of him getting pregnant aside. He was fairly certain it wasn't possible, but no one had told him that Treepie's anatomy was possible, either. The latter was easy enough to take in stride, but the former sat somewhat uncomfortably with him.

A slightly inappropriate laugh escaped him at the idea of waiting to try anything until spring. He stifled it quickly and pressed a sneaky kiss to her cheek.

"Count on it," he assured her, though he couldn't imagine there'd been any doubt of his eagerness. Perhaps tonight was too soon even for him to feel confident — but it wouldn't take long. He could sense himself growing impatient already.

Before they settled, Treepie offered another drop of relief. He hadn't been sure how to broach the topic of what they were. He was unwilling to commit himself to her before knowing if she could bear his children, though he wasn't sure if that would always be the case. He could, however, here and now, commit himself to exclusivity. Mainly because he didn't think he could stand it if some other guy started sniffing around.

"Good," he said, maybe a little flippantly. He backtracked again — "I mean, that's what I'd like, too. I'm a one-woman kind of guy."

And his one woman needed to be a one-guy kind of girl. But he figured that went without saying.

Her heart leaped when Kindle readily agreed. It was gratifying, checking off compatibilities one by one. It was early days, yet it set a promising tone to this relationship. She grinned a little as that word drifted through her head. I’m in a relationship! She was glad that Mev remained silent for the time-being.

Coaxing Kindle to follow suit by way of a nuzzle, Treepie slid forward into a sphinx pose and rolled her weight to her opposite elbow as she waited for him to settle back beside her. When her legs fell into a position that naturally betrayed the duality of her nethers, she overruled the impulse to shift her leg and conceal it.

You really don’t mind? she kind of wanted to ask, yet she couldn’t quite bring herself to voice it. Tiuttuk didn’t want to tempt fate or, gods forbid, make things awkward. It was hard enough passively revealing herself. She felt that same feeling as before: a little excited but also deeply vulnerable.

To take her mind off it, Pie blurted, We should probably try to get some sleep. I’m not going to lie, though: I don’t think I’m going to be able to anytime soon. She huffed a breathy laugh. I’m not opposed to trying… in the form of closing our eyes while we cuddle. She paused, delicately sliding a foreleg over his as if to lock him in place. Supposing, of course, you don’t mind being held captive here with me the rest of the night.

Kindle stole a glance (of course he did) between her legs, but then managed mostly to be a gentleman about it. It wasn't too difficult when the rest of her was so pretty to look at, too — particular her face. Her eyes, sulphurous and luminous and just a little bit shy, were a compelling sight.

"I don't know if I can, either," he admitted, as nice as cuddling was. It wasn't an activity that, currently, felt particularly conducive to rest. Kindle suspected that had more to do with how the rest of the night had gone than the activity in and of itself.

"Let's give it a try — but if it doesn't work out, I think maybe I should go on a run instead of sticking close," he told her, only half joking.

But he pulled them a little closer together, shifting so that she could use his throat or shoulder as a pillow if she so desired, or else tuck her head under his chin as she had before.

It really was nice.

Shall we fade soon? I think Kindle is more exhausted than he realizes, so maybe he can fall asleep lol

Feel free to post again or just ship it off to the archives! Thank you for the lovely thread. :)

Don’t you dare, Treepie jested in reply to his proposterous suggestion of going for a run, her toes gripping his foreleg now and pinning it in place. You’re stuck with me… for the night, anyway, she added with a tilt of her head, wondering just how much longer they might be stuck together.

Such exciting thoughts did not suit their endeavor to sleep, though Tiuttuk hummed a note before letting her head drift down to prop atop her paw, still draped over Kindle’s leg. It wasn’t the most comfortable position, though she enjoyed it for a few moments before a thought hit her.

She lifted her head, then the rest of her body, though only very briefly. Treepie promptly sprawled beside him again, her legs now pointed away and her spine pressing toward his flank. She scooted until every curve of her body was flush with his, then let her head fall back to rest on his shoulder.

Pie’s eyelids slid shut and she let out a happy hum. She didn’t feel sleepy, though she did feel quite comfortable as her body melted into Kindle’s. She just hoped that, when the time came, their bodies would fit together in the ways that really mattered.

But that was a thought for another day. In the meantime, this intimacy was a pleasure of its own. It really was nice.
