BLACK HOLE SUN

He had improved his tracking skills greatly, and now he was putting them to good use as he trailed the herd that drove them to the furthest eastern reaches of the dark forest. The White Deer. They weren't hard to spot because of their striking coloration, but they were still a bunch of sneaky beasts. We're close... The pale hunter announced to his company, knowing for the scent that the prey was just down the next hill.

And there they were. A rather large herd of almost 12 adults and not so many young ones. The Northerner stopped at the top of the hill, hiding between the thick bushes. They're too many. the man said after examining the situation. We need to drive a smaller group apart. They needed to bring at least two bucks down, so their strategy and their moves needed to be precise, they couldn't just dart at it without any previous planning.

Honi was nervous for her first official hunt; she talked fast and it was evident she did not know what to do with out instructions. (because its her first hunt) She stayed toward the back of the group. "How are we going to do that?" she said in a quite voice. (Sorry if it was short or bad! Its my first thread. XD)

I like that song, black hole sun ;P

Kadence, being an assassin was very skilled in this sort of activity. She felt very at home and she quickly started devising a strategy in her mind. She pushed her way passed the cowering she-wolf and spoke to the other two wolves in the hunting party.

"If we send two wolves down on other side of the deer, then we can have the other two split some deer off and drive them to the waiting wolves. When the deer reach the hidden wolves, they attack." Kadence said in the most understandable way she could, hoping they would approve of her strategy. Having just joined she was eager to impress her new pack, especially one white furred warrior in particular.

The light-coated brute looked to the she-wolf, thinking her plan over in his head. It seemed to have no overly drastic flaws, though he knew they would need to prepare in case the deer didn't feel like cooperating. They were hunting them, after all, and he assumed they would be clever enough animals to know a hunt when they saw one.
"That should work," Kove finally responded, then looked to the arctic male, awaiting to hear what he thought of the plan.

Your post is good, Honi! Though it is a bit short... For a thread to be eligible to claim EXP each post needs to have a minimum of 350 characters and have at least 10 replies, 3 of which should be your own. Don't worry about it though, as you said, this is your first post and you're learning, you'll get better with time ;)
btw, you guys are awesome! Remember there isn't a posting order, you can post whenever you have the time.

The plan proposed by Kadence was a lot like what he had in mind. An ambush. He listened turning his ears back, but never took his eyes away from the herd as he tried to decide which were the slowest and the weaker.

That's just what I had in mind. Thanks, babe. the man barked quietly as he turned around to wink at the younger female. I'll charge to split them. Kadence will come with me. Bane said to the group, and then turned to Kove only. He was older, he looked like a strong one, and he was probably more experienced too. Go hide with Honi, we'll let you know when to attack. he said trusting the older male to perform, probably, the most important task. He would be the front line of attack, and probably what would define if they succeeded. No pressure.

The brute gave a nod of his head, showing he understood the task that was presented. It was his first hunt within a pack, and he was determined to make an impression, but also hoped he wouldn't get too far ahead of himself. Kove had to be mentally reminded that he was not alone on this hunt, and that there would be another wolf there to assist him.
"Alright," he said, moving slightly so he could scan the area.
His eyes went back to look at Honi for a second, before his paws carried him down through the trees. He stayed a good distance away from the deer as he moved the spot he had believed would work, not wanting to spook any of them before things were in order. That could result in the hunt being a failure, and being the cause of something like that was nowhere near the top of Kove's to-do list.

(Thank you! I will try to make my entries longer. :) )
Honi followed Kove, being light on her paws. She was hoping to not startle any deer. "Hi,...nice to meet you. Your name is Kove, no?" Honi said, trying to be as quite as possible; she began to walk a little faster.
Since she has been accepted into the pack, Honi was nervous around pack members. She was scared to say the wrong things or anger anyone so, most of the time she kept to her self most of the time. Honi hoped to have a good impression, in her new pack.

Kove glanced back at the she-wolf for a second, but his gaze briskly returned to the path in front of him before he spoke.
"Yes, that is my name," he answered, his voice barely above a whisper. "It's a pleasure to officially make your acquaintance, Honi."
He was glad Bane had used her name prior to them setting out, for he had yet to learn it. The pack was still a new thing to him, and he had yet to memorize many of his pack mates' names. Saying nothing else, he slowly came to a stop as he neared an area he found to be suitable. It was just out of the deer's line of sight, but the other two wolves could still be seen.

Kove and Honi took their moved away from Bane and her to take their position to kill. Kadence had secretly been hoping she would be one of those that got to deliver the death sentence, it had been to long since she had gotten to sink her claws into something. But at least Bane had liked her plan. She didn't quite know what to think of the way he addressed her, Babe. She supposed it couldn't be bad since he had winked at her.

"I was thinking one of us could run into the middle of the deer to split two or three off and then the other could keep them heading in the right direction?" she suggested to the white hunter, her paws aching to attack.

Honi was happy, that she must have said the right words. She hoped that her speaking would go as smooth with other pack members. "I am pleased to make your acquaintance too." she whispered back with a small smile. She started decreasing her pace when she was at Kove's side.
"Are we close to our hiding spot yet?" Honi asked looking over to him.

"Mhm," Kove responded, though said nothing more.
His steps soon began to slow considerably, until eventually coming to a stop. While no words left his mouth, the brute hoped the message would be crossed over to his pack mate. He lowered himself down onto his haunches, his muscles bunched and ready to spring forward at any given time. The gaze held in his copper orbs was more relaxed than it should be, but it was how the brute worked. Too much tension often caused Kove to make mistakes, and doing so on his first pack hunt would certainly make a terrible first impression.

Honi responded in no words, but bent down, getting ready to attack at a signal. She was ready and eager to at least kill one deer; she wanted more then anything at the moment to impress her pack mates. But she started to become nervous, at the thought of messing up. She began to losen up and breath harder. Honi was close to breaking down. "What if I mess up? What if I am the reason they get nothing? What if I......"she stopped in thought "Ill be fine." she said quietly to herself but it helped nothing; she started trembled more.

Sorry for the delay, I'm pretty busy with school :P

Without complain, his subordinates followed his orders and walked away from Bane and his company to their hiding spot. And Kadence, who had initially suggested the plan of attack, kept to his side, ready for the action. That's the plan. The brute said to the young assassin. Although she thought she wouldn't be the one to strike, the initial plan for which they split in two groups was that they would attempt to take down at least two animals, and Bane too was eager to sink his fangs in some flesh. God he missed the taste of fresh blood.

He moved forward, silently creeping through the shadows down the hill making sure to end in the opposite direction from the other half of the group. It was time. Go! the pale warrior said to Kadence, and with his strong legs he pushed forward, barking and growling at the bewildered herd that took off as soon as Bane's voice resounded in the forest. Kove and Honi would need to wait until the right moment to strike, and for now, Bane and Kadence needed to break the herd apart, aiming for the youngest and the weakest.

Hope this is right lol

A mere second after the white fighter's call Kadence sprung out of her hiding spot and into the glorious chaos. Her limber body pushed through the undergrowth with elegant beauty and she leapt into the herd with amazing agility. She had thought she wouldn't get any of the killing action, but when Bane started attacking she took the hint and started snapping her insanely sharp fangs at the terrified animals. She nipped and bit the back legs and heels of two young fawns that had gotten separated from their mother. She drove them further towards the outside of the herd and toward the other two wolves in wait. Once she had them sprinting in just the right direction and was sure that they would continue their current rout, she circled back around and tried to attack from a different angle.

The dark girl pounced on a doe that was limping on a lame back leg, falling behind the others quickly. Gripping the deer's hide with her long claws, the young assassin hung on for her life as the deer kept running. The persistent sucker finally stumbled and collapsed to the forest floor. To stop its movements Kadence placed a huge paw on its head and used her other paw to slice the wriggling creature's throat, killing it almost instantly. When she was sure the doe was dead she let out a triumphant series of yips, hoping that the others had been graced with the same luck.

From the hiding spot he and Honi had chosen, the pale brute couched in wait, watching as the other two went to work with separating the herd, and even killing some of the creatures themselves. His copper orbs focused in on the female of the pair, noticing she had sent two fawns their way. With muscles bunching together beneath his thick coat, he was ready to attack the young cervines as soon at they got closer. Glancing over to the female beside him, he couldn't prevent the words of encouragement from falling out of his maw.
"You'll do fine," he assured her, then immediately returned his attention to the sound of the fawns.
The small deer had grown closer to them, enough so that Kove deemed it a good time to attack. Launching himself from the hiding place within the bushes, he moved his legs at a quickened pace, heading towards one of the fawns. Not bothering to make sure the female lupine had followed after him, he went after the startled fawn and nipped at the backs of it's legs and hide. At first, it was like a little game, but then he knew it had to come to an end and moved closer to the still running animal. Finding a way to run around and out to the front of the small creature, he managed to stop it for a brief second. Though quick, Kove managed to swipe his paw out at it, toes spread and claws making contact. The sound the skin made as his claws tore into it was satisfying, and soon the brute had gone to work on getting his jaws around it's neck. A few steps and jaws snapping later, the timber male had managed to kill the fawn, the crimson blood that had come from it standing out against his snowy fur. After making sure it had died and wasn't still struggling against the wound on it's neck, he spared a glance to see how Honi was faring, and then looked to the other wolves before slinking off into a new hiding spot, waiting for the rest of the small and weak to be moved from the herd.

The pale hunter sprinted right across the herd, attempting to scare a group of does that raced at the back of the stampede alongside the youngest of the group. He soon found himself in the middle of the herd, trapped between the slender legs of the white bests. But he was determined to do his job, and with barks and snaps he managed to drive a smaller group apart.

It was time for Honi and Kove to do their job. Now! the pale hunter howled, giving green light to the rest of the group to engage the attack. This was the opportunity for the new members, all of them, to show what they were made of, and to eanr their place in the brotherhood.

Ayaah, got a wee bit carried away.

The usually calm, easy-going demeanor of the man was gone. The earlier kill of the fawn had been nothing more than child's play, something he saw as a game, but this was different. His previous nature was replaced by one that seemed to be of the complete opposite, a serious expression gracing his features. Watching the small group grow closer and closer, his muscles bunched more and more. When the signalling howl invaded his ears, he was off. From his hiding place he jumped, his legs pushing him towards the oncoming group of deer. His hing legs threw him towards them, using his body to knock into one of the leading does.

The move was a foolish one, that much he was sure of, but it had seemed decent enough at the time. The deer had ended up falling over him, as did a few others, and as they rushed to get up, he used it as his chance to attack. In a matter of seconds, he was on one of them, doing his best to avoid the long, flailing legs and rough hooves. Unable to get to the neck, the ghostly male settled for tearing into the cervine's side. When Kove pulled back, the crimson liquid was clear across his muzzle, but he still plunged back in to deepen the wound until he was positive it'd be enough to end the animal. The creature was still moving when he'd finished his task, but it no longer held his focus. Again, Kove was off, running down another, larger doe. It hadn't been one to fall over his form, or had it? He couldn't tell, especially since they'd already regained their footing and continued on with their feeble attempts to escape. Pathetic, really. This one put up a much larger fight, managing to hit his shoulder once or twice, but the male wasn't so quick to give in. No, he continued after it, a fool's errand really, until he'd gotten around it.

His idea had been to block it's path with his body, but what he hadn't expected was for it to keep on it's path towards him. Stepping out of the way at nearly the last minute, he forced his legs to throw him forward once more, sending both himself and the doe to the ground. Returning to his upright position, he lunged forward with his front legs outstretched, finally able to get the deer down long enough to sink his teeth into it's neck, and jerk his head back to tear the flesh away. The tearing wasn't needed, but with the chase the creature gave, he felt it only necessary that it be killed as quickly as he was able. With that done, Kove stopped in order to catch his breath, but no more than a minute later he was off again, chasing down another deer.

From the sounds of shrieking deer and ripping flesh, Kadence could tell that the others were indeed doing well. She looked down at the lifeless animal and smiled in satisfaction. It was a very large doe, about two times larger then herself and it would feed the pack well. When she was just about to head out looking for the others, a crashing through the bushes jerked her head up and she immediately pinned her gaze to a medium sized doe that was running through the woods in front of her.

She was after the creature as fast as she could, her powerful legs carrying her steadily closer to the fleeing animal. She lunged for its back leg and latched onto it with her powerful jaws, causing the doe to trip and fall to the ground in a kicking, bleating heap. As soon as the struggling animal hit the ground, Kadence was on top of it, her fangs tearing into its neck and snapping it, killing the doe instantly. The rush of the kill flowed through her veins and made her heart rate speed up, her eyes wide and glittery.

Two kills in one hunt. Something to be very proud of. The food from this hunt would last the pack quite a while through the winter, that was for sure.

Last post from me! I will leave this open until monday for you guys to make one last post too. Keep tuned for more of these to come! :D
@Honi @Kadence @Kove

Soon after his howl, the slaughter began. Bane saw in the distance when the other pale wolf darted out of his spot and chased down one of the white beasts they chose as prey. Bane himself did the same, and pressing forward after one of the young ones he clung to it's hind leg, making it trip down to the cold earth in a brusque move. It was a male, its antlers in the early stages of development, but it was strong. It got up again, and swiftly left the arctic bearer behind. Not so fast buddy... he said retaking the chase. He too was fast, his strong legs carried him swiftly, probably even more than the buck itself.

Soon he caught up with his prey, it being slowed down by the injure inflicted by Bane's sharp fangs. Once again, he vaulted to get on top of the buck, and clung to it's neck, seizing it instantly. Once he came to a stop, he howled back at the sky, announcing the end of a successful hunt. He knew that Kove and Kadence had taken down several beasts themselves, and summed up to MoonBane's own victory, he knew that the pack would be properly, if not overly, fed during the winter ahead of them.

With the sound of Bane's howl soaring through the air to meet the sky above, Kove threw his own head back to join in. His agitation towards the earlier deer was long since forgotten, mind filled instead with the pride of a successful hunt. They'd managed to take down a decent bit of the cervines, preparing them for the Winter months ahead. How the weather fared in the Wilds during the cold season was unknown to him, having been the first one spent in the land. Still, he was sure it'd be survivable, and even more so after their hunt.

Lowering his muzzle back down, his part of the song had ended. Turning his head, the ghostly man looked upon the other wolves, a small smile gracing his features as he took in their appearances, as well as the limp bodies of their kills. It looked strange on him with blood standing out against his pale coat, and yet he didn't care. All his mind could focus on was his eagerness to partake in the next hunt; whenever it may be.
