Pack Activity
This is regarding the locust swarm and the pack so i'm marking it a pack activity, but it's not mandatory! Tagging @Kove and @Burke for visiblity.

She did not notice it when the sky turned abnormally dark. Blackfeather was shrouded in a darkness of it's own. But when a large looking grasshopper with wings, she began to panic. She knew what Locusts were, and what they did. A destroyer of forests, and nothing could escape the hoard. She howled for Kove, begging urgency and then for Burke, who she wasn't sure trusted her after the cat incident. He needed to know, if he did not already, of the coming danger. The circumstances put her into commando mode, all other thoughts were not important. All that was on her mind was Kendra and Xan, and those who needed her leadership. "Kendra!" She yelled as the humming grew louder, did the girl even hear? She had not seen the dark girl since.. And how distraught she was. She needed to be safe. Burke would bring her along, or she at least had to hope that she had taken refuge in the tunnels.

The swarm thickened, hundreds of locusts flying overhead. "Kove, where are you?" She called out, hoping that he had heard her call. "We must go to the Web, where we cannot be reached," She spoke aloud, perhaps anyone would hear her. It would be best if they could all stick together, if anyone could reach her in time. She let out another call to signal her location, a secluded entrance to the Web. They were lucky they had one, for their dens would soon be overrun.

Since the incident with the overgrown house cat, Kove had taken to sticking nearer to the borders than usual. Any time that he could be, he was there, keeping an eye out to ensure no one else was lost to the claws of those beasts. With him being so close to the open fields that surrounded the woods, he'd noticed the shift in brightness, but hadn't thought much of it until the first wave of insects had started towards him. He had known not of what they were or the threat they presented, for locusts were far from a common find in his place of birth. The land up north had been free of the insects, leaving him unprepared for their persistence. It wasn't long, though, before he'd understood the trouble that came with them—rather, he'd started to grow annoyed with them, and was eager to relieve himself of their seemingly endless assault. And so, it was with the tunnels in mind that he'd departed from the borders, heading deeper into the woods while constantly nipping at the bugs that tried to cling to him. It wasn't long after that before he'd heard Nemesis' call, the tone of urgency forcing him to move quicker and locate her.

It'd taken him a bit to reach her, having been a ways off when she'd called, but he'd arrived in time to hear her voice. Still, he was a short distance away, perhaps undetectable in the oncoming chaos, but it wasn't long before he'd drawn up next to her right side. "Nem," he'd called gently, feeling it unnecessary to speak any louder when he was next to her. "What are these bugs? Do you know?" Oblivious was he to the danger that infested their home.

Burke urged forward when he heard Nemesis howl. He did not see his daughter and let out a howl for her as he made his way to Nemesis. There were more and more bugs around, and Burke had no idea where they came from seeing he was from the north. They didn't have it that high up there. The large male rushed to the pair, it seemed Kove didn't know what these things were either. Kendra. "Kendra!," he cried out. He also howled for @Potema and @Cicero. But then he realized they couldn't leave the rest of the pack. @Mikasi @Quiet @Whisper.

The large male looked at his Beta, she seemed okay now. "The tunnels. We need to go there now!," he urged, there was no time to waste. He howled once more for everyone to go underground. It was a matter of survival it seemed. Right then Kendra appeared and Burke let out a sigh in relief. "Kendra! Come. To the web. Show us were to go." Burke knew after all that his daughter was no stranger to the tunnels.

Kendra had been in the tunnels, as she was always. She had been oblivious to what had been going on outside, and frankly she did not really care. Her expression was still blank. She did not want to feel any other emotions. It turned out that she was much like her father, though instead of being stoic she was just one blank slate. No expression. On her face. When she heard Nemesis and her father's cries for her echo through the tunnels she pushed herself to her feet and mindlessly responded.

When she reached above ground she noticed the absurd amount of bugs. The young female trotted to her back, to then be told to guide them to the tunnels. She knew them by heart. The dark female trotted back to where she came from, not greeting the others, not showing any fear. She just... followed the orders of her father, expecting the others to follow her.

She sighed in relief as Kove appeared, in the nick of time. But her relief was short lived and made no impact on her state. "Where is Xan?" She asked him, before anything. All needed to be accounted before she took refuge, or she could not be still. "They are locusts. They will strip our forest's clean of every plant and every tree. Drive the herds away to where they can find food.. worse than any tornado," She shuddered, and could not help thinking of what would remain when they emerged from hiding. Hell on earth. She had witnesses the damage of the tornado that had swept through the Teekon just weeks before she arrived but that was different. Things still remained. While she doubted any lives would be lost, after their caches ran dry.. they would have to scavenge what was left. Birds, maybe. Perhaps fish, if they existed yet.

She started to follow Kendra down to the tunnels, but waited. "Xan!" Burke had called for the pack and she would wait at the mouth of the entrance until they arrived and were accounted for. It was her job, the one she had been failing miserably at. She had to try and do it right this time. Kendra was oddly monotone, hold no expression at all, and it pained her. It would not happen again. She had vowed it.

Quickly, others had arrived, one of them being Burke. He seemed just as confused as the man was, having had not previous encounters with the locusts. For now, Kove did not question him, deciding to drop it and focus on Nemesis—who had answered his questions. Apparently, the bugs posed a great danger to them, having the capability of eating every plant that surrounded them. He was glad they did not exist from where he'd come, and had hoped for a moment that Teekon was just as frozen as his birthplace. But no amount of wishing could alter the climate, and it sure as hell couldn't drive the bugs away. Thus, he needed to adapt, and hope that everyone came out of it alive. He was focused more on them than he was his son, for often was the boy away and on his own. He simply nodded, responding to everything said at once, before moving towards the tunnel. Yet, despite knowing that he should, the Inuit did not descend down into the earth's protection.

"Nemesis, come on," he'd urged, prodding her side slightly with his nose. "Xan will come when he is ready, but he will be fine until then." After all, they were only bugs, right? Their target was the plants, not the flesh of wolves. "Trust me, he will be okay, but you and I must find a place to settle and wait for him until he arrives." Until she decided to follow, he would not move from his place at her side. He, too, was familiar with the tunnels, even if it'd been quite some time since he'd last traversed them. The way in which one traveled through them was a lesson he could never forget, though, and so he was fine with waiting even if Kendra were to leave their sight in the meantime.

I'll probably throw Xan in here after a few more posts, aha.
