All Welcome
@Romilda, would really love to thread with you if you have the time? Or else, anyone welcome, and I hope you don't mind me tagging you :)

The wraith was not a fun of this rock and drudgery. She had been her a day, and already wanted to return to the north. She draped herself over a rocky ledge, panting and tired. Having climbed for most of the morning, she fiercely desired a meal- yet there was nothing up here. A few wolf scents, but nothing really stood out. She wondered if any other creatures lived here, in this wretched land. She lifted her slender muzzle and howled, a simple curious one that requested an audience with anyone, really.

The cool stone felt good against her sore body, and she rested her muzzle on her paws, waiting for someone to show up. With a yawn, she closed her eyes to slits and waited silently, watching.

Not at all! Just be warned that she can be a bitch, expecially when she doesn't get her way.
She was starting up the mountain on another climb, which she found relaxing in a strange way since it also required a great deal of energy and sometimes strength. After climbing a few rocks, a howl drifted down to her ears, causing a growl to rumble in her chest. the events of just over a week ago were still fresh in her mind. Shoving the growl away, she made her way up and around to where she could only guess the howl was coming from.

Ahead, she saw the silver wolf laying on one of many rocks that made up the mountain. Chosing not to show her anger, she continued with a wicked grin, which only covered most of her feelings. "Hey there weakling. Looking for someone to push you off our rock?" She supressed a laugh for what she thought was a funny joke as she started picturing what it would look like in her head.

Please feel free to skip me, since he's technically off in the distance. :)

He intended to head west, always west, but he found himself blockaded by a plateau he didn't particularly feel like climbing, not when he could save time and energy traversing flatter ground. So Peregrine headed south instead, passing into another stark, barren forest before finding himself at the foot of a mountain. He sighed at his shitty luck, already hating this stretch of wilderness. He had half a mind to turn back and go home, yet he thought of his starving family and set his jaw as he once more pointed his swarthy muzzle due west.

The corner of the forest gave way to a plain overlooking a very picturesque basin. Before he could sidle down to the water for a much-needed drink, a howl stopped Peregrine in his tracks. He cocked his head, jade eyes squinting as he listened to the wordless message. He didn't take it upon himself to respond, yet he waited to see if anyone else might raise a voice in answer.

Oh, joy. A 'funny' one. Aeronwyn offered her a cold smile. "Are you volunteering? I strongly doubt you'de have the strength to push a pup off this rock." she said smoothly. She stretched out her limbs, rising to her feet as she looked down at the girl with flashing steel eyes. "However, you are welcome to try, unless you'de rather return to whatever hole you climbed out off" She smiled sweatly at the girl, and expression that was at odds with the cold, dead voice the used. She goaded the female, taunting her with insults and challenges.

She wanted to see if this female had something to show for her words. Her claws almost ached for a good fight, something she had been deprived of for weeks.

Hello! I thought I was going crazy for a moment when I saw your avatar blink :)

Same here
The grin disappeared, only to reappear a few seconds later. "I am, since you are too close to where my family is for the moment. And I believe you mean the heart to push a pup off, because they're light and weak, just like you're pathetic form" She'd taken to calling it her family instead of the family, as she'd come to despise both her uncle and sister for the time being. "And that hole is too boring for my taste, I'd rather be up here with those who carry death wishes." Taking a few steps forward, she let the growl return to her chest. There wasn't a reason she should step down and she didn't want to either.

Oooh, touchy. Instead of replying, Aeronwyn simple threw back her muzzle and laughed. She gazed down at the female, cold mirth dancing in her eyes. "Well, missy, don't simply hide behind insults and wait for you family to save you. If you so wish, come up here and test me" At the final words, the mirth turned to smooth danger, Aeronwyn's stance carried a threat and a challenge. She stood at her full height, staring down at the female as she met her gaze head on. "Unless, of course, your legs are too weak to carry you up here" She yawned, displaying her ivory fangs.

She let the grin die again, and didn't bring it back. From here words wouldn't be useful, since it appeared the stranger wanted a fight. She made her way to the rock and stopped below it. When she thought about it, fighting on the side of a mountain wasn't smart to do. "That flat rock is not large enough to hold two wolves, and it would be a shame for one of us to fall to our death. To make this fair, lets take this down to the dirt." Falling to her death was only one thing that came to mind, and something both would be able to do. There was also the posibility of both going down, and that wouldn't be any fun.

Fair enough.

The pale wraith descended quickly, hopping from stone to stone cracefully and thanking her lucky stars she didn't slip. She reached the ground quickly, then hurriedly moved away from the rocks so that the other could not leap on her from above. Veins coursing with adrenaline, she smirked at the female before swishing her tail through the air like a whip, eagerly awaiting the female's arrival.

Let's do this.

Romi quickly but carefully made her way down after the silver female. This would be a good way to pass some time along with making sure this stranger knew who she was dealing with. By the time her paws hit dirt, she was shaking with anticipation. After this, if she got a scar, she doubted anyone would mess with her. She lashed her tail and flicked an ear before rushing at the female with her teeth bared.

When the voices began to sound more angry than irritable, it seemed prudent to travel in the opposite direction. Doe had been hopeful when she heard the lonely, inquisitive call. She'd been nearly ready to respond in kind when she discovered the wolf - and her enemy - were closer than she'd realized.

Doe turned away from the now circling shewolves and slunk quietly through the underbrush, grateful that she hadn't been spotted. Her ears swivelled anxiously until their voices faded away, and then she loosened up. Her slinking turned to loping, and her ears stayed relatively still as she made her way down the slope.

"Tomorrow will be kinder," she said, repeating the sentence until she thought it sounded as upbeat and confident as she wished she could be. So focused was she on her motto, she didn't even noticed the other wolf until she was nearly upon him.

Doe rolled to a stop a few dozen yards away, ears swivelling restlessly as she tried to decide what to do. Had the wolf seen her, or could she go on undetected? It seemed silly to think he hadn't heard her - in fact, she wasn't confident the other two shewolves hadn't, either. The bigger threat, however, was the one standing right in front of her.

"Hail," she called tentatively, a nervous whine forcing its way through her teeth as she instinctively lowered herself. Her tail wagged halfheartedly behind her, but she knew that there was very little could dissuade a wolf when he wanted to be unfriendly.

The girl landed on the dirt a few yards away, shaking with what the wraith took to be excitment. Aeronwyn stayed still, though her body was tensed and ready should this female attack first, and so she did. With little warning beside a lash of her tail and a flick of her ear, the she-wolf barreled for Aeronwyn. Aeronwyn stayed rooted in her stance, eyes on the female as she approached quickly. When she was close, Aeronwyn drpped to the ground and aimed a bite at her chest and neck area. Her long legs, positioned beneather her, would alow her to spring back up if things went wrong. She lunged, teeth bared, as she sought for a grip on this females chest.

No one howled back, so Peregrine prepared to move on. But he had only gone five steps when an overwhelming exhaustion settled on his shoulders. He slowed and stopped again, peering at the distant basin longingly. He did want a drink. First, though, he needed a rest. In fact, he thought about retreating back into the trees. Their leafless limbs didn't offer much cover, yet he would feel less exposed among the trunks.

He was just turning when he realized he had company. She looked like a coyote, yet her scent told him she was a wolf. The black wolf wondered at this local phenomenon, then noted her friendly, submissive behaviors. Although Peregrine appreciated the deference, he really didn't have time for this. He had two tasks at hand here: scout out greener pastures and/or locate some prey. She offered neither.

"Sorry, I just don't have time for this," he said blandly, turning and trotting away toward the basin after all, not even looking back once.

Romi thought she had the upper hand, until the other crouched down. She lost some of her nerve, but not enough to make her give up and run. No, she was too proud for that anyways. A few moments later, when her opponent aimed for her chest, it left her little time to react. A growl escaped from her throat when she felt the teeth made contact with her skin, soon drawing a small amount of blood. She bent down and tried to dig her own set of fangs into the female's shoulders or neck.

She had her grip, and was not letting grow. She tightened her grip ever so slightly, growling through the fur as the other managed to grab her shoulder. She ignored the grip, even as it sent pain though her leg. She through her weight forward and pushed off with her legs, seeking to bowl the female over. If she was not successful, she would still keeep her grip, and shake her head wildly as she tried to inflict maximum damage. Her movements were, however, kept in check by the other's grip on her.

She was forced to take a few steps back. In the process she stumbled and almost fell, only just being able to stay on her feet. Growling, she tried to ro rip at her opponent's shoulder, but she was restricted to lifting her head due to the pain and teeth. She thought to call for help, but then she'd have to let go, which could make the situation even worse.

Aeronwyn could taste blood. She may have a fierce desire to spill the red, but was not, in any case, self-destructive. Something needed to be done. With a snarl through the females fur, Aeronwyn aimed swipe after swipe at the legs of the woman. If she could, she would unbalance the female so that she would fall, if not she would continue to claw at the legs if she could, inflicting as much damage as possible. The use of her forepaw left her slightly unbalanced, however, and she did not think that she would be able to keep this up for too long. She kept her grip on the female, slowly trrying to tighten her bite.

Romi stumbled and lost her grip on her opponents shoulder due to the damage done to her legs. She fell to the ground with a yelp, tears starting to wet her eyes. The pain in her chest was slowly becoming intolerable, so she couldn't howl for the help she wanted. The young female had bitten too much to chew, without even knowing it. When the light brown female hit the ground, she thought it would end the fight. However, deep down, she had a feeling there wasn't any escape. The female she'd challenged obviously had experience the young wolf lacked. Shoving her pride aside in favor of possible survival, she let out a weak wimper.

Her attack proved successful, and Aeronwyn released her grip on the female and stepped back. Eyes dead and distant as stars gleamed dangerously as she assesed the damage. Her own shoulder burned and was covered in blood, but that was the extent of her major injuries. She gave the girl a look a mother might give to a disobedient pup, a "I'm not angry, just disapointed" kind of thing. The girl was wimpering, and that gave Aeronwyn a rush. She took a step closer, ignoring her screaming shoulder, and dipped her head so that she gazed directly into the girls eyes. She had wiped the emotion from them, and they were simply cold. "Tell me, girl. Why should I walk away now?"

Aeronwyn had no interest in killing this wolf, even if she would make a meal. This one, however, should suffer for her insolence.

She turned her head to the side, not looking at the wolf above her or speaking. Romi wasn't going to let who could easily kill her see the fear that had creeped to her eyes. This was done without thought, as she'd also left herself open for a killing bite to her neck. She wanted to threaten with death, but that would mean her own end, most likely. Besides, just breathing was proving to be painful, so speaking was out of the question.

If you would like Aero to be annoying/cause any more injuies/leave, just say so! Up to you :D
It would be so simple. She twisted her head to the side, exposing her neck for the killing snap. She end it now, simply, quick. But no. There was no fun in quick death, but a chase was always exciting. Beside, this was merely an inexperienced youngster with a big ego. Aeronwyn leaned in close, her muzzle right beside the others ear.
"Run. Now."

No more injuries, Romilda's going to slowly leave with her tail between her legs. Besides, she'd probably die after another wound.
Romi had to hold back a growl, which would make both of her situations worse. The first being the pain in her chest, the second being the female. She slowly went to get up, trying not to make the wound on her chest any worse. Just as slowly as she got up, she started on her way around the mountain to find her father. She risked a look over her shoulder to make sure the other wasn't following.

Sounds good! Thanks for the thread!

Aeronwyn sneered as they other got to her feet and slowly limped away. Pathetic. She had ignored the growl, though it ignited a spark of hatred in her chest. This girl...she had a family, did she not? Aeronwyn needed to return home, but she would not forget this encounter. As the girl departed, Aeronwyn lifted her crimson-stained muzzle and howled to the heavens. It was a warning, a promise. A song that sang beware. Satisfied, Aeronwyn turned toward him, limping slightly on her torn shoulder. She would need a healer to attend to it. But one day...perhaps she would return, to this spot.
