Maybe she can attempt to hunt with @Kalika ?

The twelve-week-old fae was reaching the age where she could trot along after her mother while she hunted. It was a miracle that she had made it to the coast on her own, without many survival skills in her arsenal to defend herself with.

The sweet little fae sat in the sand, shifting a beautiful shell around with her paw. She glanced at the foaming sea, a smile spreading across her maw like wildfire as she picked up the shell with her canines. Stepping ankle deep into the shifting water, she tossed her head, releasing the shell into the water as an offering to Her.

She trotted back ashore, humming a little Greek song she heard Kalika hum to her when she slept before. A glipse down the beach assured the pup that her mother would be with her soon, as she was always around. The girl sat upon her haunches, patiently waiting for her to show so that Calypso could ask her the question that had recently bloomed in her mind.

Geia sou, peristéri, Kalika whispered as she came nearer to Calypso and planted a kiss upon her forehead. The song which her daughter sang was a familiar once, making the Adept's heart swell with pride. She sat down behind the girl, most of her weight shifted onto her side, and began grooming her carefully to make sure that each strand was in place and there were no signs of neglect upon her tiny body.

What have you been doing while I was gone, hm? Kalika pondered, pausing for a moment to pose the question. A smile curled onto her maw and an eyebrow raised, for she knew just how mischevious young girls could be when left to their own devices.

She heard her mother approach, and let her ditty fade out. With a smile she spoke, "Geia Momma", lifting her head to peer at her mother backwards. She cooed as Kalika arranged her pelt, letting her paws knead the sand in contentment.

At the question the girls face parted in a bright smile, for she knew her mother would be pleased with what she had been doing for the last hour. Nodding inland at a pile of beautiful seashells, she spoke gleefully, "I've been getting the prettiest ones to give to Her!" She jumped up near the end of her words, prancing over to the pile. Thankfully, after living here for a couple weeks she was starting to be able to walk upon the moving sands. Using a paw to shift through her pile, she smiled adoringly at her cache. Looking back to see if her mother had followed she spoke, "Would you like one mommy? I'm sure She wouldn't mind."

Kalika listened intently to her daughter's words, nodding along to the notion of offerings and gifts. Calypso was proving to be quite a bright young pupil in her mother's eyes; one didn't expect children to know the importance of sacrifice and gifts from such a young age unless that knowledge had been planted there by something greater. She was meant to be a Nereid and proved this more and more with each passing day.

That's okay, peristéri. She deserves them more than I do. Looking over the tiny array of gifts, Kalika noted how hard the child must have worked. Are you hungry? she asked, assuming a meal was equally needed on both ends.

She nodded when her mother spoke, tucking the tidbit of knowledge about the Sea away. It seemed that Kalika wished for her to hold the Sea and Moon at a higher level of importance than her own adoptive mother, which must mean that They are like mothers to the girl as well. Looking at the ebbing tide with fresh eyes, she started to understand. The Sea semed to the sprite like a strict mother, remembering how She had kept her afloat when she trusted Her, but pulled her almost violently under when she lost faith.

Her mother's words, and the loud rumble of her hungry stomach, pulled the sprite out of her thoughts. Noting how she must have been staring out at the cascading waves, Calypso made sure to focus her attention on Kalika. Nodding in confirmation, she spoke with one of the many Greek words she had overheard and interpreted, "Nai momma!" she grinned and flicked her small tail happily, hoping to have made her mother proud with her usage of their language.

Kalika couldn't help but allow a thickly laced smile to crawl across her maw. Very good, love, she cooed in response to her daughter's Greek. She looked out over the horizon in an effort to scan for prey and quickly found what it was she was looking for not far down the coast; a juvenile summer's seal with no mother to be seen. Kalika turned and focused her attention on the creature, trying to figure out where the older, more dangerous one might be hiding.

Follow me, she whispered. The plan would be as follows: Kalika would go in and make the initial blow to the seal, then once it was weak and ready for the final blow, Calypso would be allowed to help her mother in finishing the job.

Excitement poured through the young spirite's veins. Her mother seemed to know something the girl did not as she whispered to the young pup. With a slight nod of her head, Calypso crouched behind her mother, padding behind her as they headed towards a blob of a creature. When she finally connected the dots she nearly yelped with joy, but held back her cry. Her mother was finally going to let her join in on a hunt.
