All Welcome
hoping to recruit someone... but aw.

she waited.  she was relatively unaware of the drama transpiring within the bracken woods and she felt she was better for it.  she had enough on her plate as it was with her own sulking.  although she appreciated her brother and adored lily, neither were what she was yearning for.  she was unconcerned or uninterested in the rest of her packmates thus far (although, she muses, perhaps she should get to know that little girl her brother is fond of).  so what did that leave?

although her brother needed her right now, she shirked the responsibility today.  sorry, brother.  she followed her feet as they carried her from the heart of the woods and towards the outskirts, towards a small stream that lay on bracken sanctuary's edge.

the stream was frozen over, although with the coming spring the ice had begun to thin.  she positioned herself, and then hopped gracefully with her narrow forelimbs on the edges of the stream, hoping for a good outcome.  unfortunately, all it caused were sore paws; she would have no luck on her own.

Well hello there :3

The canvas that stretched across the sky was coated in thick clouds, a layer of ashen haze to hide much of the land in a grey mask as the two traipsed across the Wilderness, steps falling into a steady rhythm to match the gentle beats of their hearts. In certain places of the overcast a chink of light was able to break through and flitter down as a beam to shed a dazzling golden tinge upon any beneath it, through primarily the day was gloomy and Horosk was almost certain rain would arrive some time soon. Then again, he was not the greatest at picking up signs brought by the weather.

The appearance of the rough, woollen blanket of mottled grey did not cease the warm chatter that arose between he and Mira as they continued their journey, and the conversation was enough to block out the chill of the breeze and fill his chest with a slight fuzzy feeling. It was an odd sensation, but he welcomed it like an old friend. Never would he take that feeling for granted.

The man turned his amethyst gaze toward @Semira suddenly, pausing to sniff at the air as they approaced a large forest. Beaneath their feet the ground was thick with bracken and thorns, and it would be a lie to say the huge expanse of trees were not almost intimidating. The wind brought him many scents of many wolves, and wariness washed over him like an icy wave to fill his heart with anticipation. Despite his love for the company of the she-wolf beside him, and his general desire to be among more wolves, he was not so easily trusting as he might once have been. There were always dangers to be considered. "There are others. Do you think...?" A pack, perhaps? Deciding to take a peek, he crept but a few paces forward before catching sight of a wolf very near - the man halted where he stood, ears cupped forward atop his head.

A small chuff left his muzzle, hoping to alert the female by the frozen water of his presence, and his head ducked - if this was indeed a pack, they'd better show some respect else they might lose their tails.

beautiful rays of sunlight broke through the cheerless overcast and shone down upon the landscape around her.  she was so distracted by it that she did not see the two wolves moving through the woods, even though the snow would have easily betrayed their presence.  it was only at the male's chuff that she came from within herself and she set upon him quickly, offering the woman at his side a glance as well.

she noticed their submission and quickly made to put them at ease.  hello! she called, still keeping a respectable distance.  bracken sanctuary was not used to visitors, and there was only one of her and two of them.  we're friendly, don't worry.  i'm lanawyn, she beamed, becoming easily full of life in the face of a man who might actually be available.

not that lanawyn was interested in relationships... but boy, was it dry out here or what?

The sky was overwhelmed with emotion it seemed; ready at any moment to shed its tears down upon the bantering pair. They were two streaks of cream against the grayscale land, like droplets of honey on the bark of a mountain ash. It was as dark as pre-dawn and awash with gloom, and yet Semira felt none of what the weather implied. Instead, the fae smiled down upon every faded green shred of grass she saw, laughed at every kiss of the wind that nearly sent her tumbling into her partner's side. She could imagine the virescent spring colors and vibrant summer hues that would soon coat the land in their glory, and that was enough for her.

The dame sensed the pause in Horosk's breath, the shift in his footsteps, and glanced over to him with a questioning raise of her brow. Those ameranthine eyes were alight with joy, yet strung with an undercurrent of wariness. Her maw parted to begin her inquisition of the agouti male, but promptly clamped shut as the scent of others invaded her senses. Nausia ran through her, tearing at her insides breifly before settling in her stomach.

The male's words confirmed her fears - no, her excitement. Mira wondered at the faint glimmer of anxiety that had cosumed her in those few seconds. Wondered at the butterflys that still beat against her ribcage; singing in protest of his suggestion. It was not the flapping of wings, but the thundering of her own heart. He would not know it, but the mere implication of running into a pack riddled her with worry.

Rejection versus acceptance.

The dove stood, frozen to the ground, as he prowled closer to the treeline. "Is it... is it okay if I wait here for a second? I just need to gather myself first." She added a glance at her own pelt to her words. Allowed disapproval to show on her visage. She made it seem as though it was the mud incased in her pelt, not the angst in her heart, that worried her. The fae hated the tiny lie in her actions, but she would hate to ruin his happiness more.

The agouti man was well aware that his companion was not by his side as he awaited the attention of the other wolfess, and although he was tempted to hang back and ensure she was alright, she quietly explained the reasons for lingering behind at the treeline and Horosk made no move to pressure the dame forward. "That's totally fine, just come when you're ready." Despite his own love for interactions between wolves, he understood not all favoured the speech or even the presence alone of strangers and that he could respect. Although her vibrant eyes travelled to the light hues of her pelt, the outcasted Irya knew it likely was not about any mud caught amongst her fur, but he did not press on the matter.

The approaching woman beamed, demeanor instantly recognisable as friendly and welcoming, and despite the relax of Horosk's muscles, he would not hand her his trust immediately. He knew how facile it could be to lie. A smile of his own graced the storyteller's lips despite this, brown plume of a tail beating once at his rear to signal that he was here to cause no harm, only a traveller with a wonderful woman at his side - they sought a home, so perhaps this would become a possibility to add to their options.

"Hello. It's nice to meet you, Lanawyn. My name is Horosk, and her name is Semira," He gestured behind him to where the girl with the pelt of the sun was hanging back by the line of trees. "We... are looking for a home. Is this a pack, here?" Indeed, the scents would certainly suggest such a thing.

This ones a bit shorter, just to keep the post order and what not :3

Semira paced back and forth a few yards form the tree line, her heart pounding in her chest.  The fae was well aware of the female Horosk spoke too - was well aware of the fact that the stranger could see her little tantrum. Thats what this was. A tantrum.

A huff of air escaped her maw, her features turning incredulous.

Breath in.

Breath out.

As much as she will herself to calm, instead she ended up working herself up. She pondered over why she was acting this way, but to no avail. They had ran into loners on their journey, but perhaps that was the issue. The fact that she would have to meet a group of wolves who had already bonded to one another, and attempt to get them to like her. She simply wanted them to like her, not turn her away. But, She mused, if they don't like us then chances are we won't like them either. Some small piece of her relaxed at the thought. Soon that piece turned into another, and another; ending with a tidal wave of nervous energy that crashed out of her system.

her fiery gaze set upon the girl that was quite obviously having an anxiety attack over in the corner.  her lips pursed, for although she wanted to go help she hadn't seen any fresh dick for some time.  oh my god, that was so crude.  but it was true!

bracken sanctuary, at your service, she cooed, happy that someone finally wanted to join their pack.  even if this dude and that girl ended up being hitched or whatever, some new faces were always nice.  we're more of a family than anything, so if you're looking for something traditional and dominance-based, i'm afraid you won't find that here.  but if you're open to being a part of something where you have the freedom to better yourselves, we'd be glad to have you.

she unconsciously batted her eyes at him, then glanced back over at the girl.  hey sweetheart, you alright?  please don't like, keel over and die on my borders, please?

so, are there any trades or activities you would like to pursue?

Bracken Sanctuary.

The outcasted Irya committed the name to memory, deciding that the title alone brought a strange sense of comfort to ease his beating heart - the name was not one of intimidation, and paired with the welcoming attidute of the wolfess, he believed it safe to assume these wolves would bring no harm to the travelling pair. As Lanawyn continued to explain the habits of this place and the residents within, Horosk's immediate assumptions proved likely to be true. "A family... that sounds exactly like what we are looking for."

His gaze of violet peered backward to land upon the figure of Semira, brows knitting with concern. Should he, perhaps, approach her and hold this conversation for later? As much as he wished for a place for the two of them to stay, her safety and her opinions mattered far more to him, to cast them aside would be ghastly. Just as he was about to leave his place before the female ahead of him, a wave of calm appeared to wash over his companion - and to that, he responded by sending her an encouraging smile.

Then an inquiry was directed to Horosk, and he turned back to focus open the words that this wolfess spoke. "Ah, I am a Storyteller at heart, though I'm willing to pick up any skills needed." He was healthy (and not exactly an old man), able to learn something new if it granted him and Mira access into this Sanctuary. He was about to answer for the absent Semira, but he decided it better to allow her to explain - after all, the man did not want to state skills that she desired not to persue.

A wreck.

That's exactly what she she was, and yet she felt so secure in her relationship with Horosk that she could not understand how she still struggled with anxiety. She had been so undeniably strongwilled and just: strong. She shook her agouti head, glancing down at her paws in disgust. Here she was, letting Horosk greet someone utterly new to the both of them, alone.

The thought startled her into action. Horosk would never force her to do anything she did not wish to do. She needed to go over to him - he deserved for her to stand by his side as much as he stood by hers. The fae's paws moved beneath her- stirring the grasses and twigs beneath her.

With a gentle chuff and a sway of her hips, she strode over to the two wolves - an apologetic smile gracing her features. The fae beside her male was striking. She disguised the low growl that rose from her chest with the clearing of her throat. "Hello there.." She let a full grin spread across her maw.

Hah!  There we go.  Finally, the girl grew some nads and stopped hyperventillating somewhere in the distance.  Awesome.  She did seem kind of terse when she talked though, which Lanawyn didn't like.  'Lo.  It's nice to meet you two.  If a family sounds like what you're looking for, then we're the pack for you.

She released the call before continuing.  Are you okay? she asked, turning to Semira with a cocked brow.

A small awkward discussion ensued before Lanawyn began to explain how things worked in the Sanctuary.  After some time she began leading them towards @Alarian, and together the pair gave @Horosk and @Semira a grand tour of the Sanctuary.
