The influx of new members had intrigued her--who were these women and their children that had come so suddenly with Alarian at their side?--but, beyond talking to Seabreeze, she hadn't made the effort to reach out to the others. The white wolfess seemed nice enough, but she came with an aura that both soothed and intimidated the blackbird. The children, she thought, were her best bet.
Lily relaxed in the sun just outside the pups' dens, idly toying with one of the myriad toys they had left behind. A thigh bone from a rabbit, picked clean and polished 'til it shone in the summer daylight. Easy enough to crack between her adult teeth, but she kept a gentle grip on it, instead dragging it through the dirt in circles. Over and over, until she'd made a kind of pattern.
Then she blew gently, sending up a small cloud of dust. The pattern disappeared. She set down the bone, resting her muzzle on her paws and looking slowly around to see if anyone was around to join her for some fun.
