For @Constantine - thought I might go ahead and start our thread :)

While Eilonwy was out and about, the mother got some time to herself. She worried perhaps a little too much about her little girl but she knew she wouldn't run away. As long as she kept herself within the borders, Eilonwy would be just fine. Chusi had sensed that Durnehviir had returned, but the former alpha pair seemed to have hit a rocky part of their journey. Chusi wondered if there would even be any pups this year, knowing she probably wouldn't be allowed to breed. Nor Aria for that matter, Chusi had picked up on a little jealousy coming from Durnehviir and Constantine probably didn't want more trouble than he already had. But that was just her speculating. She had never been truly in love like the former alpha pair so perhaps with a kiss they'd just make up and pop out some more Creek babies.

She did however find herself looking for the stormy male. Though she wasn't very bright, she was very in touch with emotions and felt he wasn't doing all that great. Perhaps she wasn't the best mother, but Chusi was one of the best friend anyone could have. Her pointy snout poked around every corner, hoping to spot the male somewhere.

The stocky wolf released a low, rumbling growl as he rubbed the side of his muzzle along the rough bark of a tree, as if that could take away the sting. A thin line of red blood lifted to the surface of the irritating wound—received from a rather grumpy fox he had ushered away from one of the packs caches.

It itched, and while the wound itself was superficial, only slightly deeper than a scratch, it was the cherry on top of his life, it seemed.

Pulling away from the bark, the Mayfair lifted his paw to rub against the side of his muzzle, not yet noticing the oncoming form of his pack mate.

She trotted through the creek without her usual bounce in her step, mainly because she was too focused on the task at hand. She wanted the pack that had so generously allowed her and her friends (though most if not all had left her alone) to join to flourish like how it did moons ago, but she couldn't make it happen all on her own. She needed all of them on board to make Swiftcurrent Creek great again! (hah)

Her smile faded when she did find who she was looking for though. Her head tipped to the side in question for a moment before she spotted the crimson cut on his muzzle. Constantine? Ya doin' okay? She questioned hesitantly in a slightly worried tone, hoping she wouldn't spook him seeing that she just marched up to him without him having noticed her yet.

An ear flicked in the direction of the soft drawling voice, his tongue licking his chops roughly as his muzzle swung to her direction. His fiery eyes studied the she-wolf for a stolen moment, considering the girl before him—she had come to them a naive waife and had borne two puppies against their law. Chusi’s proclaimed lover had slipped away, and the Mayfair still wished to this day to sink his teeth into the hide of the man who had run from his children, leaving the girl alone to raise them. Alone, because she had accepted very little help from any of them.

She had been through her own hellish year, he assumed, and as he studied her, a light frown stormed across the roguish man’s features. “How do you do it, Chusi?” He paused, his tone a gentle rumble as he tried to keep the edge of defeat from his voice. “How do you stay so optimistic?”

It's not like her own year hadn't been hard. Her friends was gone, one of her children was gone, and she broke a rule she never wanted to break in the first place. But optimism was the only thing keeping her going at this point. It always had been. When she was stranded at the coast as a child, being kind to others got her kindness in return. Taking in other wolves' feelings was her biggest strength, but it did put logic on the sideline. She couldn't just love herself out of every situation.

She frowned harder and her pretty face squished together. I'm just really... Dumb. She answered, knowing it probably wasn't an answer he was waiting for. But it was the truth. No, there wasn't a guarantee Kubo was safe. No, not everyone was kind. No, true love didn't exist. And no, life had no great plan for her or anyone else which would ultimately explain why everyone left - But Chusi believed all of it. But this wasn't about her. Constantine needed comfort, she could tell, so she went to sit near him and silently invited him to do the same. I understand that doesn't work for everybody though... She continued.

'makes more sense ta feel low every now 'n then. She wasn't about to minimize his pain and struggles. All feelings were a big deal to her.
