Evening came, inscrutable blues, gloom, with the iron of a foreboding spring storm and a thunder grumbling at his back. With each step through the spires, Vonnaruil heard his sister’s grief instead of that thunder; saw the everlasting gleam in her eyes renewed. Had it only been moments ago, when he’d held her to him in farewell?
Leaving Aurëwen when she’d already been left was something the brother had never believed he would do; but it was either this, or pursue the elusive Huntsman in the hopes of vengeance. As @Vercingetorix had promised to do the latter — vows being such a severe thing, ‘specially of bloodlet — the Crow decided he would repay the life debt which @Evergreen had wrought of this hauntful day.
Sorrowful as it was, it only seemed right to him. And he’d been looking so forward to gracing Isilmë with his own own fleetfooted prowess, and perhaps @Dragomir, too... alas, it would have to be later in life, if he should ever reconvene with his family once more.
And to leave his lovely @Stigmata, the meticulous @Mahler, and that taciturn @Takiyok, all of whom who had relented and allowed the corsairs — well, not him, he’d never truly settled along the sea — into Diaspora’s claim, well... all he could really muster was well-wishing at this point, towards them and to those he’d traveled with.
He was a wraith, and this is what he did best. If the Maker was kind to him, then perhaps he would truly be able see his sweet sister, her lover, his niece and nephew once more.
But for now, as the rain began to billow in, and the thunder became deafening in his heart, the Crow winged his way north-and-west, to where this... Kaistleoki had been rumored to be found.
