Midar had remembered the sweet smells emanating from this forest the few times he had wandered close enough, so today when he found himself near the peculiar place again, he had decided enter the trees and explore. He had left the Melonii territory a day or so ago in search of recruits but hadn't found much. Perhaps he was too picky about who he considered worthy enough to bring back to the pack, but he wouldn't give up his search yet.

He had intended on tracking the source of the sweet smell but once inside the trees, he found that it came from all around him. The highest concentration of the scent seemed to come from the prickly bushes that grew more numerous the farther he made his way into the forest. Finally, he stopped at one and sniffed its leaves for a good while before moving to inspect one of the oddly-shaped red berries mixed among the leaves. The smell was interesting, and he decided that he wanted to know what it tasted like, so he pulled a berry from the bush and began to chew it. Instantly, a strong tartness burst in his mouth, and the beast couldn't decided if he liked it. So he ate another...and another....and another before he realized how tasty these strange berries were.
