set for early evening on 11/21

He had been gone exploring most of the day but as the sun hung low in the sky, promising darkness soon, he decided it was time to head back to the hollow. It got cold fast once the sun set and he didn't like the idea of being out on his own at night. He was old enough for it probably, but the idea made him panic a little. His steps quickened in response to his anxiety, but he halted abruptly when he crunched over a large area of what appeared to be dead flowers. Their leaves were bigger than that of most flowers, with big serrated edges. They were interesting, even if they were no longer green. The cold had turned them mostly brown and all had wilted and then turned crispy from the brisk, dry air. He sniffed around the area, wondering if he recognized the scent, but he couldn't quite place it; it was familiar, though, he just wasn't sure how. He walked the edges of the patch, investigating further, the impending night and his reason for needing a distraction temporarily forgotten.

She was enjoy the nature today; winter was soon upon them and the young female was a little excited to see snowfall again. It was going to be hard cause of the lack of prey but she was sure she could survive and help her pack as well. She was so caught in her own world she barely noticed the other wolf present.

He was lost in his exploration, his surroundings disappearing from his conscious thought as he tried his hardest to take in every detail of the peculiar plants. He walked slowly around the perimeter of the patch, nose buried deep within the plants as he huffed air out through his nose and inhaled it back in to take in the scents. He knew he had smelled these before but in their current state, he didn't recognize them. He was so focused on trying to solve this mystery that he didn't even notice that he was no longer alone. So he continued to amble around the patch, stopping only to thoroughly inspect more of the plant's scent.
