All Welcome
@Lithium dated before Chanel reaches FB

Chanel paused at the edge of the vast lake before her, dipping maw towards the water to take a little sip. Little did she know that she was rather close to the home of the boy Valour whom she had met before- if she'd known, perhaps she would've gone for a visit. But for now she was content to settle herself down beside the water's edge, taking a little break from her long journey.

She had escaped her mothers clutches and finally was able to explore around like she had wanted. Valium hadn't followed her this time so she was a little cautious but not by much. She trotted along happily until she realized she had no idea how to get back. She saw the big blue thing and walked towards it and realized it was water when she stepped in it and it was cold.

some powerplay, lmk if I should change! ^_^

Not long after she had settled down to rest, a visitor joined her for a dip in the lake. Her head turns, and warm chestnut eyes settle on- a child? The lake was no place for a pup that small, especially not with the depths it could reach in the spots which were further out. She pulled herself to her feet, nervously stumbling towards the little bundle and grabbing her by the nape. She carefully plucked the pup from the water, setting her gently on the ground beside her. Winter was still in the process of fading away, and so Chanel was sure that the water was chilly. She made quick work with her tongue of lapping the top of the girl's head with worry, hoping to warm her up a little.

She was pretty damn cold and she didn't like it one bit and when a stranger picked her up she was all the more pissed. "Hey!" She yelled in protest as her little body shivered. The wolf's warm tongue made her feel nice but her pride would never let her admit it.

The little voice surprised her and she momentarily stumbled backward in surprise. So this one knew how to talk already- or at least to some degree. Well, then, it was all the more chance for her to teach the child a lesson. She simply wouldn't stand and watch as little kids put themselves in danger.

I'm doing this for your own good, darling, She murmured between careful strokes of her tongue. You shouldn't swim at this time of year, you'll freeze! You ought to be more careful! She scolded rather gently, though the exasperation was fairly clear in her tone.

It wasn't like she was trying to freeze to death. Didn't this woman know she was just as surprised as she was. The young thing didn't know it was so close to her until she had been into it. Who did this woman think she was scolding her like her own mother. Then she thought perhaps this was better than her own mothers punishment. She didn't answer the woman back and her stubborn butt wasn't going to argue either.

The child only gave her stubborn silence- Chanel.was not exactly sure what that meant. She was no mind reader, and wasn't even sure if the girl was old enough to understand everything she'd just said. But it was a better response than arguing back, at least, and so Chanel continued to bathe the girl's nape and head until she felt her work was done.

She stepped back from the little thing to make sure she didn't look too shivery, and if everything seemed right, Chanel would proceed to settle onto her haunches. Do you know your way home from here, darling? She inquired, head tilting curiously.

She didn't know how to explain her home in words due to her limited vocabulary but she knew one word. "W..w....wood!" She yelled happily swaying her little tail. Hoping the woman would understand what she had met.

Wood. Woods? Chanel's warm eyes flickered upwards and away from the pup, to the east where a wooded place lied in clear sight. Could that be it? She wouldn't expect the child to know for sure, but she decided checking the scent markers would be enough. So she picked up the girl by her nape, delicately- knowing that she wasn't too keen on being held. It wasn't far, and once the stench of a foreign pack began to hit her, she halted and gently set down the pup. Is this the place, darling? Do you know? She smell reminded her vaguely of the boy she'd met once before- Valour- but she pushed that thought to the back of her mind, choosing to focus on the present.

The woman picked her up again and she was pissed but she was soon set down once more. Her packs scent filling her little nostrils. She didn't voice her thought due to limitations and she gave a small yip.

Damnit. This kid could say 'wood' or 'hey' but wouldn't give her a simple yes or no answer? Either way, though, the place smelled similar to the pup. Even though she still smelled of her mother's milk... there was the scent of this place on her too. It had to be her home. Chanel recalls, momentarily, what Valour had told her about this place- a spooky wood whose name could not be thrown around lightly. She frowned. What would they think, to find her here with their child? What kind of people lived here? Ever the irresponsible babysitter, Chanel nudged the girl towards a nearby treestump, planting a final lap on her head before darting away, hoping there would not be an angry mother on her heels.
exit chanel. thanks for the thread!

She felt the lick on her had and the small plump of fur nudged the woman sweetly before trotting off to where her brother was before her mother seen her and hopefully had no idea she had left on her own little adventure. As soon as she got to the den she knocked out and curled to a ball.
