All Welcome
He had first gotten a taste of the outside world only days ago, and now with each and every sunrise Haruki awoke with enthusiastic vigor, eager to get out and explore more. He wanted to know every nook and cranny around their den and the area surrounding it - for that was the limit of his world for the time being. If any one of the puppies dared to go beyond some boundary line invisible to them, their mother or father were there to rally them all back to the den's immediate vicinity.

Haruki, though, was a good boy. The term consequence was still new to him, but he had seen Sumi dragged back enough times now to learn what not to do with their newfound freedom. So, after rising early and quietly untangling himself from his siblings, the young prince made his way to just outside the den, within earshot of the still-sleeping Reiko and his sisters.

The grass and plants were still touched with dew, the droplets highlighted by the soft morning sun. Curious, he sniffed at a single, wet flower delicately, before pulling back suddenly with a grimace as it transferred the cool dew to his nose, causing a shiver to race down his spine. Oh no, he did not like that.

If Cordelia wanted to make herself more useful within the pack that meant she would have to be more known. At least to the more important players of the pack. Out of all the high ranked individuals within the pack, she knew Ibis best, that that wasn't saying much as the two had only had a short conversation. She also had an encounter with Hime once she first joined the pack but that was in a large group and individuality wasn't apparent. The emperor had gotten into a fight with one of his own subjects, and according to the little gossip she overheard he was no longer with them.

Despite everything, she thought it would be good to introduce herself to the other true ruler of this pack, Reiko. It seemed that the last pack meeting was close to her den and so that is where Cordelia headed that morning. Perhaps the empress would be too busy with her new brood for a full conversation but an introduction, Cordelia felt, was needed.

But when she neared this empress's den a small young pup was found all alone. He wasn't in any danger and was close enough to the den, but she still felt he could use some company. What was she kidding, she couldn't help herself. All these puppies were so cute. He was sniffing a flower before pulling back. She let out a light chuff as to not scare him and lowered herself to his level. "Hello young Sir. Are you smelling the flowers?" she asked in a kind light voice.

He was about to turn to inspect another, less offensive flower before a soft chuff distracted him. Haruki whirled around to spot the pale adult making her way towards him and he stared unblinkingly, for a moment mistaking her for mother. Beyond the obvious similarities in appearance, the stranger had the same soft, almost calming presence as Reiko, with a lilting voice that coaxed the puppy forward despite not understanding a word of what she had said.

"Yunnnngh...suh," he responded proudly, making the most out of his newfound ability of speech, even if it was just incomprehensible mimicry for the moment. He was beginning to understand certain words, such as what his mother and father were most often called as well as his own name, but recognising more than that was still just beyond his grasp for the time being. So he looked up to not-Reiko with a smile as she lowered herself down before him, wandering forward and making to touch her nose with his own as an introduction.

At the young sir's attempt to say just that Cordelia couldn't help but audibly coo. "Oh. Very good. That's right. Young Sir," she stated before coming down to his level.

Once down low enough he came forward and touched her on the nose. Cordelia had no problem with this. Similar to a thought she had had previously. Puppies their age were likely too young to understand stranger danger, and there wasn't much she could do to teach that other than being mean to them. And she most definitely couldn't do that.

In comparison to the other pup, she had met this one was far better at his speech, though that wasn't saying much. Despite that Cordelia thought it would be nice, and most definitely cute, to encourage it. "My name is Corra. Can you attempt that? Corra. Corra," she repeated.

Again, she spoke, and Haruki's stubby ears perked to listen, but his brain could not yet make sense of the words. Her tone, however, was delightfully joyful; airy and light in a way similar to Reiko's, and the pup beamed in response. "Suuuuh," he echoed as he wandered forward to touch noses, hoping to illicit another happy response from the other.

This time when she spoke again, however, new, strange sounds came out. His expression turned into a look of puzzlement as he processed these foreign words. "C...Cooor...wah," he attempted hesitantly. Unbeknownst to him, he had complied with Corra's request, though really, he was just saying the word that she had repeated most. "Coorrrrrrrrrr," he said again, this time letting the sound fall into a playful growl as he pounced forward, batting a paw at her nose.

Both his attempts at speech were met with high pitched words or praise. "Very good... Such a quick learner!" His nose touches were still very welcome upon Cordelia's. He attempted her name again, this time holding onto the R in a playful growl sort of way. He pounded at the ground before her and batted a paw or two at her muzzle. Joining in the young boys fun she quickly, but gently, took hold of one of his paws at it came her way.

Again, his attempts were responded to with happy words of approval, and Haruki's joy was expressed through his eagerly wiggling tail. Yes, he deserved this. He was such a good boy, like mama always assured him!

As he then engaged her in play, the adult moved to take one of his paws, her much larger jaws closing over his puppy toes. Haruki's eyes widened in a moment of trepidation, before he quickly realised she meant no harm, and let out a shrill giggle of delight while he danced on the spot on his remaining three legs.

He made no effort to pull his leg away as she expected. Instead, his face filled with surprise shortly before hopping around on his remaining paws, and affirming his delight with a cheerful giggle. Wishing to continue the fun she released his paw and went for the other, at a pace he could likely dodge if he decided to do so. All in all, she tried to take gentle noms of his, so cute to eat, body. Reaching from his paws, ears, and other available parts, careful not to be too rough.

Thanks for the thread <3 Archiving here!

He almost lost his balance once or twice while Cordelia held his paw gently within her teeth, before she then went for the other. With his now released foreleg, Haruki let out a tiny battle cry, rearing up and batting at her freckled snout with as much strength as he could muster. Only he was quick to succumb to giggles as she moved to take ahold of one of his nubby ears.

The boy tried to jerk back his head to reclaim his ear, but paused as he heard a soft coo from within the den — Reiko was calling him back, most likely for breakfast. His features drooped a little, not wanting to say goodbye to the new friend he had found in the delightful Corra, but he also would not pass up the opportunity of food.

Rearing up onto his hind legs once more, Haruki tried to land his paws on the female's chest, placing an amicable kiss upon her nose before turning and bumbling obediently back into the den for breakfast.
