Junior groaned and stretched without bothering to open her eyes. She lay still for a few beats, luxuriating in the September sunshine like a lazy cat. Then she remembered where she was and her eyes popped open. She shot to her feet, swallowed and wondered whether she might be in trouble.
You're an Outrider, she reminded herself. They know that! It's not like they think you abandoned them after one night! Get it together!
Clearing her throat, the young she-wolf padded away from her makeshift nest at the islet's center and cast her mismatched eyes around for a source of fresh water. She found a small brook and stopped there to take a drink. Junior then proceeded toward the beach that overlooked Sequoia Coast.

I apologize for late reply
He had stood at the edge of the beige grit, staring out at a small isle that had wiggled itself onto the water and planted its roots. Just as he planted his paws, the ones he was growing into, onto the border of the soft grass and the speckled sand.
Yuda did not know what was chaining him to where he stood. A small thought of fear crossed his mind, which made him quickly take the first march forward. Fear was not an option, and something that he had never felt before. His mind briefly touched upon what left him alone, and he shook his head with a narrowed brow. No, he'd never felt the dark creeper upon his body or mind, but that did not mean that the emotion that was pulled from him the most was anger.
Dark grey feet sunk into the sand, and Yuda found that he disliked the strange and malleable substance. It made him feel uncomfortable and slow, and he quickened his pace to free himself of the unwanted feeling. Unfortunately, quicker movement made his steps even more clumsy feeling.
He kept the pace he'd been going straight into the cool rush. Dark eyes forward, the male had unlimited stores of no emotion. This would not be changing any time soon. It was not a long journey, and Yuda found that he did not mind the sand when it was wet, though it was more of a feeling of indifference. The male stood, water crying off of his fur, and stared into what may lie ahead.

I wasn't quite clear if he was on the island, so I was vague. :o
Before she reached the small spit of sand, a movement in the underbrush caught Junior's eye and she pounced instinctively, then felt a squirming warmth beneath her paw. She lifted it and saw a rat, its spine crushed by her attack. Young Osprey quickly dispatched it by bending over it, mashing its posterior to the ground and severing its head with her molars. She savored the delicious crunch and the flood of blood and brain matter on her tongue.
She polished off the rest of her small kill, then licked her black chops and resumed her walk toward the beach. En route, she began to cough, the result of a small bone stuck in her gullet. She strode onto the sand only to stop and arch her neck, gagging loudly as she attempted to bring it up and spit it out.

yes, he had just come out from the water
As the male stood in place, vaguely noting that the grit stuck to his paws (not much unlike cat litter sticking to piss), the wet sop of his fur clinging to his young frame. Growth weight had not yet wrapped his body, but the young boy was also unfinished in reaching his completed size.
His black orbs shot as far left as they could, then slowly travelled to the opposite direction. As the scanning was nearly complete, Yuda's left ear flicked to a sudden sound. Eyes staying where they had ceased movement, the juvenile zoned in on the noise that annoyed him, even if it was in the slightest. What his ear captured mix of a hacking sound that could be described as an ill woodpecker and a seal gagging on it's fish.
A passing thought was that he hoped the bothersome turbulence would dissipate soon.

She arched her head, angling her snout toward her chest and unfurling her tongue as she attempted to dislodge the bone. It took a few unpleasant lurches before it came loose and sprang from her mouth, covered in froth and drool. Junior licked her chops, cleared her throat and then made a point to step on the bone as she continued her walk.
When her eyes lifted, she spotted the sopping wet stranger standing on the beach and froze in surprise. Forgetting that she was supposed to ignore males at best and treat them like fodder at worst, she eventually said, "Hey." She swallowed, her black tail flicking idly to and fro as she studied the dark-furred, black-eyed stranger.

Rotating his head left to bring the girl into view would have been too much of a chore for Yuda. It was both an unnecessary and an unwanted task that presented itself. Hope was not the correct word to name the specific feeling he had of no other wolf having presence on the small isle; yet, in a certain way, meaning magnified many times over, it could be the primary word listed, among others. Yuda would always desire isolation over the company of any living thing. Peace with the world would be the unnoticed sensation, though the mind of the growing boy could never be named peaceful by any terms.
Dark eyes stared forward, even while his neck turned to look at a girl just as dark. A minute huff came out of a wet nose. Droplets of water slowed their descent from his matted pelt, but the dripping still occurred. There was nothing else Yuda did, for just the effort of giving note of the female was enough to last him for days.

10/15: Editing a conclusion.
He looked her way, though he said nothing and barely acknowledged her presence. Junior's eyes narrowed slightly as she scrutinized him. Suddenly she remembered how she was supposed to behave toward males. No Nereides Sister worth her salt would stand for this male's insolence. He was refusing to acknowledge her, which was incredibly rude and disrespectful.
Taking several purposeful steps toward him, Junior opened her mouth. "I said," she spoke loudly, "hey." Her look became more of a glare than anything as she sought his blank gaze, daring him to challenge her.
He looked at her rather dully and offered a vacuous acknowledgement. Junior stared at him shrewdly, wondering at his total lack of personality. Nostrils flaring, she glared at him for several beats, trying to decide what she should do now. Should she assault him for his lack of deference? Junior felt a tremor of unease at the thought. Instead, she huffed at him and abruptly flounced further down beach, without so much as a single backward glance.
