Though Aiwëndil had seen only signs that the local herds were moving through the silver-lit Terrace, rather than residing there for any extended amount of time, she decided to leave the Spine behind at dusk -- trotting briskly through the grass that parted to embrace the herdwatcher, kissing along her side with a caress of their blades. Perhaps any deer or elk in the area might be more active at that time and the girl might be able to pinpoint their migration patterns better.

The deerstalker slowed as she came upon the borders of Silverlight Terrace, lowering herself to hunker just beneath the level of the grass's camouflaging cover -- watching the small cluster of white-tailed deer grazing on the budding grass with care amongst the shattered rocks from the mountain's demise.
