With their claim on Ankyra Sound secured, Aktaiê now felt confident enough to leave its borders for short periods of time; particularly now, when their core was ready to add more recruits to their number. With the beach secluded by cliffs and the great sequoia forest, it was rare for non-pack wolves to approach their borders. That suited the Nereides just fine, but it did mean that finding wolves to bolster their ranks was a little more difficult.
Knowing that under the watch of Greyjoy and Caiaphas in particular, her kingdom would be safe, Aktaiê left under the moonlit night — seeking to both explore, and perhaps meet someone new. Her small journey led her to the river that spilled back into its mother ocean, and she paused here to investigate the verdant greenery; perhaps there would be herbs of use to them in this fertile delta that could not also be found within their borders.
