for @Tvar !
with her bed rest lifted and the wounds on her leg finally healed, winslet felt invigorated. eager to leave her home and help. it was on doctors orders that she rested for so long, but that didn't ease her guilt. bearclaw was kind enough to keep her, kind enough to heal and keep her fed. and what has she done in return?
that was going to change, as she willed it. no longer did she wish to remain a fragile, frightened plover.
and so she moved with renewed energy. flitting to and fro, gently bugging whoever she'd stumble into. trying to find work, something to keep herself busy.
and then the smell of blood invaded her senses, and her chest suddenly felt too tight. a grim reminder of the coyote attack. a flash of fear and panic that threatened to simmer and boil. but after a deep breath, she would not allow it to consume her.
she put on her best brave face as she hurried after the scent. worried to what she may find, but eager to lend a helping hand if needed be.
