wash it all away [read]

Star awoke. It was about midnight, just a day or two since she'd gotten back. There was no moon in the sky, and the stars seemed dim. She got up slowly, gently stretching each leg. She quietly began to walk towards the Creek. She sat. Star stared into her reflection. She was heavily stained by her own blood. She stepped into the Creek- the waters were gentle. She moved towards the deeper middle, letting her whole little body submerge in water. She opened her eyes underneath. It was blurry and hard to see. Little strings of bright red floated through the water. It was working. She was being cleaned of her blood. It became hard to hold her breath. She almost began towards the surface.... But a thought struck her. What if she just stayed under? She wouldn't have to face her pack-mates any more, wouldn't have to suffer any pain.. And she could be with her mother, and possibly her sister, if there was an afterlife. Don't, her thoughts whispered in her mind. She swam up towards the surface. Hitting air, she slowly took in a deep breath. Then she crawled out, dripping and washed of her blood. She was pure white again. Slowly she walked towards her grass bed. Then she laid down in bed. And slept.
