*late to the party!*

Death Warrant, or DW, as he was more often referred to, had gradually declined in health over the past week. After the crash, he had stayed with the lifeless human body that had brought them to this place. He had remained until the other humans had come, and it was at that point that he had finally broken away from her. He often felt like going back, but he could not bring himself to go back to those wretched cages. His spirit had always been strong and bright, yet with the way he looked now, nobody looking from the outside in would have guessed.

Presently, DW was scrounging around the frozen landscape, searching for anything that might resemble food. His stomach ached, his fur was muddy and matted, and he wanted nothing more than to curl up beneath some human's feet and sleep the rest of his life away in peace and quiet. But his tummy growled and he knew he had to keep searching. He found something interesting buried here, and DW began to dig at the ground, pausing to occasionally bite at the earth, only to spit out whatever he picked up.

The huge cat sat in a withered, old tree, looking down at the doggie digging in the snow. It was dirty, thin, and smelt bad. Lark wrinkled her nose, then jumped effortlessly out of the tree and stalked toward the creature. "Hey there, pup." she called out as she approached. Perhaps she could have some fun with this one. "You hungry?" Her eyes glinted with mischief, and her stump of a tail wagged happily.

Thanks for joining! I'm going to play it like he can't understand kitty talk. Others are still welcome to pop in. :)

DW's ears perked up when he heard something approaching, followed by jargon he could understand no better than the sounds the humans always seemed to make. Whatever it was that was approaching, it was decidedly NEW AND SCARY. The hair on DW's back rose, giving him a mohawk, and he growled. His ears pinned back against his head, and his stump of a tail tucked as close to his body as possible.

Then, he began barking wildly, his voice causing a flock of birds to take flight from where they had been sitting on the trees above.
