Versailles — a place he once called home. But now, it is only a distant memory.
Although he had been named dauphin, Meric did not feel respected among either family, or the commonfolk that he knew to be his subjects. None saw him fit to one day take the throne.
But Meric had other plans. Rather than remain and hold his title and birthright, he decided to part ways with his homeland and go off in search of a place to make a throne of his own.
