Northstar Vale when you and I are through

He returns to the borders of Montagne de Cigue with no Pala and no sons, but his confidence unmoved. His head lifting to howl for @Noctaryn he plans to relieve the man of his temporary duties before going to get Julienne from maman. His tail waves lightly at the thought of reuniting with his daughter.

His journey may not have been a complete success, but now he knows where and with who Pala resides. Even if maman is not pleased with that alone, it's a start. If not, then he is prepared to use some more.. backhanded methods, to have his children returned to the grasps of the de Cigue matriarche. Anything to return him to her good graces. Pala he can do far less about; in the end she is a grown woman, she can make her own decision of whether or not to return.

The call had finally come from Chaudry that he returned and Noctaryn sent his own howl to acknowledge it.

He traversed the borders quickly, coming to a stop not far from where Chaudry stood. Curiously, he was alone. The man was supposed to return with Pala and sons, yet here he stood empty handed. 

"Welcome back, Chaudry. I see that you are...alone. Were you able to find them?" He didn't have to say who he spoke of for they were the reason the mountain man had left the Vale in the first place.

He acknowledges Noctaryn with a nod, an improvement from his mood during their previous meeting. Another pack has taken them. A mountain across the flatlands. He speaks, gesturing to the west. I was chased from the border, they would not let Pala see me. A hint of frustration entered his expression now. This strange pack had taken something from him, but all the same it had given him a reason to act on his aggression.

He would tell his maman the same as he told Noctaryn; he could see her reaction now. She would send as many as she could manage to retrieve the boys, to ensure that Pala was safe. Chaudry only cared to prove that he had been right, whether bits and pieces of his truth were lies or not.

Surprise settled over his features. Where they truly taken? Could Pala have taken the children only to be abducted by another pack? Regardless of what truly transpired, Noctaryn could only think of their well-being.

To Chaudry, his gaze conflicted, unsettled. "They are otherwise alright? Your mother was hoping to see them safely returned." Had Chaudry done enough in his plea for their return? Or, did he just give up, allowing the pack to do what they needed to do, so that he could return home to his only remaining child?

The what ifs were plenty, but none could be helped now. Now, Chaudry needed to collect his daughter and speak with Viskani. Something needed to be done.

Yet, he didn't know exactly what that something would look like. He was almost afraid to find out.

I cannot know. He spoke in earnest, claws noticably digging into the dirt. I will speak to my maman, and they will be returned. Her bite is stronger than my own. It was hard to believe, given Chaudry was twice his mother's size, but Viskani was damn mean when she wasn't in a gentle mood. A pack having taken members of her bloodline, that was something Chaudry knew would set her off.

His expression turning neutral once more, he began his trot forward. Thank you for taking care of my post, Noctaryn. A surprisingly polite dismissal. He nodded to the halfbreed before making his exit.
