All Welcome
Anyone is welcome, of course ^^ but I would love an @Isa maybe? <3

Ever since Wylla had shown Emmerich the fun of hunting small creatures, the boy had become transfixed with the concept. He spent the better part of most days sitting as still as he could, searching the ground for signs of movement that would reveal a fuzzy little creature. Each time he believed he had found one, the boy had stalked and jumped! Only to find that his paws did not capture much, and the rustling of leaves could be attributed to bugs and wind more often than prey.

Emmerich sat that day with his back to the den. His body was stiff, still as the stone, and his eyes searched the grassy path several yards away. The winds toyed with the greenery, drawing his attention each time it passed through. A sigh fell from his nose. Emmerich lowered himself to his belly and rested his chin upon his paws.

I always have time for Teo threads <3
Frustration and irritation fluttered across her features as she laid there hungry of all things. It was absolutely preposterous that wolves needed to catch their own food, in her opinion. With little care for the prey’s feelings, she felt as though they should simply throw themselves at the feet of her and her siblings, huffing as she pushed onto her paws. She, for one, did not want to hunt small creatures.

It was then that she had heard the obnoxious noises created by her brother, prompting a roll of the eyes as she made her way over. She arrived as his body went stiff, seemingly on a mission before he sighed. She cleared her throat. “What are you doing?” She asked, a tone of annoyance lingering still. Her brothers were just so weird. She didn’t understand why they couldn’t be more like her.

Emmerich turned a single dark ear at the sound of his sister’s voice. She sounded annoyed. Shocking, since the little princess didn’t really like to do things that he liked to do. She usually just occupied Mahler and Wylla’s attention until she found something of more promise. Maybe he was fortunate to have found her gaze. Judging by her expression and tone, he was probably going to get an earful of her opinions.

Deciding to answer in their father’s native tongue, Emmerich lifted his head and sneered.

Auf…passen

The boy’s stomach rumbled. He really wanted one of those treats that Wylla had showed him. He just didn’t know how she’d managed to catch one so well. After all, she was much taller than the vole she had brought to him. It should have been harder to reach down to snatch it.

Want snack? Emmerich then asked Isa with a small wag of his tail.

Her brother sneered which caused the princess to twitch with annoyance, her eyes narrowing as she huffed lightly, her head held high as she looked down on him. It felt wholly unnecessary to speak to her that way. “Was gucken?” The language came easier to her due to the lessons she pried out of her father without quite realizing it. The simpler questions were easier though she struggled to form anything more complex than the basics.

She heard his stomach start to growl and she even offered a soft snicker. It was amusing to her that he felt such pangs. He asked her a question and a brow raised as she huffed lightly. “Yes, but why does that matter to you.” She sneered back similar to the attitude he had shown to her earlier, her tail flicking from side to side in an almost challenging manner, begging him to prove her wrong if only to make a snack easier to achieve for her.

Isa asked him what he was watching. Emmerich did not bother to give her a verbal answer. He merely rolled his eyes and pointed his muzzle in the direction of the undergrowth that had bustled only moments before. The boy wondered if his prize was still hiding inside. Hunger gnawed at him again, though he shifted his body to cover the sound of the rumbling in his stomach. Couldn’t have his sister looking at him with that face again – he didn’t like it.

It seemed that the premise of a snack was appealing to her, though. The girl tried to pass her interest off as being aloof. Emmerich looked at her, unimpressed. He wanted to show her the things that their mother and father had taught him. He wanted to prove that he was a hunter, just like they were. Isa wished to know why it mattered to him, but the boy was only looking to show off.

Cause… I gonna catch one, stupid! Emmerich smiled devilishly. He liked using that word. He liked even more the idea that it would greatly offend his sister. She was more fun when she was shaken off her high horse anyway.

Her brother offered quite a bit of sass which caused a scowl and narrowed eyes to form on her features. All she had done was ask a question! He didn’t have to be so rude about it. He pointed his muzzle towards the undergrowth, and she noted the way that the foliage bustled for a moment to signify that there was life hiding within. Still, she frowned, not understanding just what her idiot brother was planning to do with it.

Still, her brother’s look simply made her double down on her statement. He called her stupid and she narrowed her eyes at him. “What did you just call me?!?” She stated in offense, her voice loud enough to startle the target that he had been seeking as she moved towards him intentionally so he could not prove himself right by any means, not that she thought that he could regardless. “You are the stupid one, Emm. Du kannst nichts fangen, indem du es anstarrst und mich beleidigst. She snapped in offense at him, her father’s tongue lacing over her voice from the many lessons that she had taken with him, hearing it frequently and having it develop alongside her common.

Emmerich nearly bubbled over with devilish delight at her response. Isa was indignant at having been called stupid. Her bother knew that it had been a pointed statement, that he had intended to ruffle her feathers. He simply hadn’t expected that she would have offered him that much of a reaction. One little word had sparked a flurry of English and German.

The young boy grinned in a bratty way. His little tail thumped against the ground.

When Isa had finished her retort to him, Emmerich laughed. His snout was tossed back in a great haughty display before his composure gave way to his giggles. The future would provide him with plenty of opportunity to make Isa snap back. Already, his mind was working on plans to rile her up in the future.

What have you caught, Isa? The smugness remained intact on his face. Bet it’s nothing.

Irritation bridled her features as her brother started to laugh at her. The question met with her ears pressing down, eyes narrowing. “I’ve been learning from father, you know, to hunt and fight and even more to heal. I bet you don’t know a thing about the plants that might save your life.” Her temper spiked as she shoved past him.

She certainly did not want to feed into his boasting glory, narrowing her eyes as she searched for her own prey, the other creature having been startled off by the noise. “I bet you don’t know how to find your way home with just the stars.” She challenged again, her tail whipping aggressively from side to side with the hints of a snarl on her features.

She did not like being riled up and she did not like the idea that one of her lesser brothers thought himself better than her at anything.

So you been chewing up weeds, blah blah blah, Emmerich retorted with a wag of his tail. He would have mocked what she said further, but he was too wrapped up in the idea that Isa believed she was a more well-rounded hunter than he was! The white-hooded child wasn’t about to sit idle and let her spew her elitist words at him. He knew things!

When she spouted that she bet he didn’t even know how to find his way home by using the stars, Emmerich made an expression of faux sincere thought before shaking his head. Nah, he didn’t know those things. The boy couldn’t even wrap his head around thinking looking at the glittery balls of light in the sky was a useful skill to have.

I can find home without stars, Isaaaa. You find with trees and smells and steps in the ground!

Emmerich nodded his head with some finality. What could your stars compare to all that?

Blah blah blah. His voice grated against her already thinning patience. Did he not know how to respect his superiors? Clearly, as the only girl, that was what she was.

Her irritation grew, her tail flicking back and forth with annoyance. “Careful or I might just chew up dangerous plants into your food, Emmer!” The words fell from anger. She had her limits, and would never actually attempt to harm her brothers, regardless of how much they irritated her and ground down on her patience. They were just jealous because she was Papa’s favorite, clearly!

“Trees fall. Smells fade. And steps disappear!” She countered each of his points, her eyes narrowed at him before frustration had her lunging at him. He thought he was so much better than her just because he could hunt and fight but so could she! She’d show him just how much she could fight, in fact.

Isa threatened to chew up dangerous herbs and poison his food. Emmerich was tickled that she would consider it, imagining that the effort of tainting his meat would prove a waste of her time. The young boy haughtily thought that the greenery would tip him off to foul play. He might have been thick-skulled, but he wasn’t so daft that he would let his sister put nasty leaves in his meat. Didn’t she know that?

The boy giggled inconsiderately.

They all won’t fall! Duh! The bushes gonna fall too? The rocks gonna just disappear?

Tch… and she thought he was dumb. Isa was trying to make it seem like the world could fade away to nothing and if he didn’t know how to look at dots in the sky, he’d be lost forever. Emmerich giggled again, leaning back until his laugh became a cackle.

I gonna be just fine, he said to her with a smirk.

God, she's such a brat ;-;
His infectious giggles over her threat caused her fur to begin to bristle along her spine. His audacity! She had no idea what about her threatening to poison him was so funny but it felt uncalled for in her mind. She didn’t know if she wanted to storm off or continue to argue. She hated the idea of her brother beating her at anything, especially an argument such as this.

“How do you know they won’t fall? It’s not like you know everything.” She pouted, even moving forward to swipe her paw at his ear in an almost scolding manner. He was being mean and that was her job. How were her loyal subjects to fear her if they just laughed in her face instead?

Gah, it was just so frustrating!

“Whatever you say.” She grumbled, a sneer on her face as she turned, her tail high in the air with pride as she moved away from him. She was done tolerating his incessant yammering back and forth.

Please, I adore her so much. *w* <333 I could make us an updated one? If you would be okay with that?

Isa made a bold claim, stating that Emmerich didn’t know everything there was to know. The young boy would have been offended that she was practically calling him stupid! Instead, his face crinkled into a smug expression. He knew what his next words would do. He knew that she would be infuriated with his snideness, but Emmerich didn’t care.

Ya don’t know everything either, Isa, he said matter-of-factly and swished his tail.

She didn’t seem to want to banter with him anymore, though. A shame, he thought. Emmerich had enjoyed their little spitting match. He liked seeing her get flustered. He liked even more that he had babbled long enough to steer her away.

Bye, Isaaa. Don’t get lost, now.

Another giggle followed.

Absolutely! I will always take more Teo threads <3 @Emmerich
His words made her fur bristle down her spine, a growl escaping her lips as her teeth barred. Those words were fighting words. In that moment, she knew she would be asking @Mahler to teach her how to fight next, so she could learn all there was to know and promptly kick her brother’s ass for his insolent nature. How dare he suggest that she was not a genius when it was clear she was the smartest of them all?

She continued to stomp off, disappearing into the distance in a fit, immediately seeking out her father or her mother so she could start to learn these stupid hunting and fighting tactics solely to stick it to her brother. Revenge was a dish best served cold.
