Now fresh and clean from those nasty webs Paeon was able to continue her journey through the Teekon Wilds without the lingering thoughts of discomfort. She entered the Jade Fern Grove and trotted through the vibrant floor of ferns. The ground was soft as she moved atop batches of moss. Paeon wasn't sure the types of areas she liked the most but this definitely beat the rough terrain of the mountains she thought.
Then out of the corner of her eye, she saw something twitch. She turned her head and saw a woodchuck come out of its burrow and shuffle on over to a nearby creek. She crouched down and began to approach it but without immediate cover, after a few feet, the woodchuck saw her and bolted for its burrow. Paeon lept after it but was too slow and watched as it disappeared into the ground. She dug at the hole for a moment, but it was no use and the woodchuck was too deep now.
She stepped back from the burrow and thought for a moment. She looked around and found a semi-vegetated area next to a tree, just enough to keep her hidden. It was positioned about halfway between the woodchuck's burrow and the water. She lay there in wait hoping to catch it once it felt confident enough to reemerge and get a drink of water.
