from the (bracken) forest kandros ventures south, navigating towards the peak that pokes out of a massive ice sheet reminiscent of some massive and celestial beast's baby tooth. turning navigational eye away from the stars, the moonbeam and midnight colored coywolf uses the shadows and cover of the quiet and still nights as optimal traveling time ...besides the fact that navigating by the stars was much easier when he could see them. the spectre's steps slow as he approaches the dangerous ice stacks with unbridled caution. they appear treacherous but he's never been one to shy away from a challenge. the yawning mouth of a cave catches his attention as he makes his way around the hollow's western side of the base and intent on exploring the secrets these teekon wilds have to offer he slips inside the cave mouth on a spontaneous whim and ventures into the abysmal darkness, pale gaze adjusting to the lightless cave as best it could. still, kandros presses his shoulder against the rough rock wall and uses it as a guide in lieu of sight.

pure exhaustion had eventually forced the fae's eyelids shut as sleep closed in on her like some dark predator. however unsurprisingly it was short lived as her eyelids fluttered restlessly as dark dreams plagued her mind until hazel orbs became visible with the rescue of conciousness. her sides heaved as she panted, shaking her head roughly from side to side as her heart beat slowly began to settle. this routine was by no means new to her and she'd grumble lowly- pawing at her face in frustration. how the hell was she supposed to be her sharpest self if her mind refused to let her body refuel itself?
she'd push herself up and back onto her haunches, dark nose lifting to taste the air. the sharp coldness that clung to it would suggest it was still night but she could not be certain. her eyes were still having a hard time trying to adjust to the gloom pressing in on her but she felt oddly safe blanketed in the shadows- so thick even the light creaminess of her pelt remained hidden unless you squinted really hard. so far her time in the lands of teekon had been rather uneventful, she'd yet to come across any wolves although this may be due to the harshness of the lands she'd come across. the lack of socialising was no problem to her in the slightest, solitude never bothered her in fact it was something she tended to seek.
she had just pushed herself to all fours and had began following the fresh air slowly with the intention of getting outside of the cave she'd come across and decided to use as a pit stop when a noise caused her to freeze, muscles tensing and ears pricking. It was the soft sound of paws hitting the hard surface and soon enough the scent of another drifted along the breeze as it unmistakably made its way towards her. She'd crouch slightly, ears pinning back as her lip curled in wary preparation. when the sound grew louder she'd let a low warning growl rumble from deep in her chest- trying to communicate that although she did not intend on attacking this wolf she would not hesitate to retaliate if it did anything to prove itself as a threat. she'd wait then in an uneasy silence, dark eyes narrowed as she watched for anything to stand out in the wall of darkness before her.

it dawns on kandros rather abruptly that he's not alone in the cave. not as he first thought. there is no breeze in the confines of the earth, however, and it makes sense that this knowledge only presents itself to him the closer he draws to the other. a warning growl rumbles from the abysmal darkness and his steps pause as his guard hairs prickle and bristle. the cave is cloaked in true darkness: there are no sweet moonbeams to war with it, no stars to break the inky blackness that is all consuming. he knows he's close. he can smell her now. lone. female. canine ( which was good because he was in no mood to deal with a cat or a bear ). he can hear each draw of air that she takes, and though he does not let his guard slip entirely — that'd be foolish — the spectre does relax ever-so-slightly. it's a minuscule adjustment though.
"i apologize," he breaks the temporary silence that lingers between them following her warning growl. "i didn't realize this cave was occupied." kandros admits to the darkness, shifting his weight ever so slightly, pressing his shoulder harder against the rough rock wall wondering if it's best he just retreat back outside and leave this stranger to her own devices.

the momentary silence between the two after her growl had ceased any further sounds of movement was stangely deafening. it seemed to press down on her until it was chased away by the masculine voice that floated out from the darkness before her. she would straighten quickly, bunched muscles relaxing ever so slightly at the apology that met her warning. so they weren't here to fight, she was admittably relieved having not wanted to waste valuable energy over literally nothing but she wouldn't put it past some wolves to be foolish enough to do so in a heartbeat. now that it seemed there was no immediate threat she would frown slightly as she sniffed at the air. it was definitely a male canine and she could detect wolf yes but there was something just slightly different about this brute. or perhaps she was just imagining it, she was running on very little sleep after all so who knew how unreliable her senses could be.
she'd lean to the side ever so slightly- letting the smooth, cool surface of the wall hold some of her weight as she shook her head subconciously to what he said although of course he could not see it. "it's fine" she'd murmur, voice although soft containing cool undertones as her dark gaze continued to narrow against the gloom. after letting a few more moments of silence trickle by she'd elaborate in the same almost monotone voice. "i was simply crashing here but i'm done with the place now, i was actually on my way out" it was quite impossible to read wether she'd prefer him to stay or accompany her back out into the fresh air for frankly the ghostly fae did not care. usually she'd be quite opposed to the idea of unnecessary company but it'd been so long since she'd conversed with another she didn't really care much. having said that she also did not care if she were to leave by herself in the slightest.

going to go ahead and end and archive this since kandros went inactive
the brute offered nothing more in response to her statement so tundra moved calmly past him and out into the fresh air, glad to move on from here and let him have her previous resting spot if he wanted it.exit
