All Welcome
He was extremely curious as to why they had not settled in the great caldera north of them. It was a great fortress, protected on all sides by stone walls. And as he soon discovered, also had its own water source.

Why didn't they move here?!

During their move, he had made a detour to the place. It was the first time he had seen the landmark and it immediately drew him to it. Malcanthet eagerly scaled its heights, drinking in every detail of the caldera and constantly rebuking his cousin for bypassing this venerable castle for the forest south of them.

Not that he really had the gall to say that to the Night King's face.

if you don't mind c:

she was still getting used to her promotion, on one paw it was pretty much the same. title or not she'd continue to roam the borders and protect the woods but at the same time the responsibility had heightened not only because she was to help lead these wolves, but because ramsay and maegi had chosen to put their trust in her. to uphold that honour was the biggest responsibility of all and whilst she didn't plan on ever betraying them, the need to not let them down was a bit overpowering as she adjusted to the change.

so after making sure everything seemed in order she'd slip soundlessly from the wood's edge- small paws carrying her pale body across the long grasses in seek of the kind of solace you could only find in the neutral lands. it definitely felt good to get out and she'd break out into a run, letting out some of that pent up energy with long, energetic strides. soon all she was aware of was the air whipping past her and the steady thrum of her paws against the hard earth, heartbeat matching up with it so that it felt almost as if she became one with her surroundings- a mere blur, no longer a solid being but just a pale shadow streaking across the grasses. it was the lightest she'd felt in ages, pushing her body too hard to leave room for any intrusive thoughts. all she could feel was the satisfying burn of working muscles and the sting of her eyes as the air struck at them at great speeds.

however she was still mortal and soon her once flawless pace would begin to falter- screaming muscles giving out as she grunted, still refusing to give in until her body decided to make its own independent decision against her mind's commands and give out, paws falling still and refusing to move again as she fell back onto her haunches- sides heaving as she panted heavily but still buzzing with a strong sense of simply feeling alive. for a while she'd simply sit like that, regaining her energy whilst the world continued to bustle about around her- rabbits hopping to and fro and little insects buzzing about doing whatever it was that they even did. dark eyes would finally inspect just how far she'd gone, glancing about as a warm breeze ruffled nicely through her thick pelt. she'd reached the edge of the meadow it seemed, the land beginning to steep up towards her side.

feeling rested enough she'd stand once more and make the almost subconcious decision to begin hiking up the slope, she'd been here before but she'd never made it to the top before. today she'd do just that. it didn't take too long and she had to admit, it was definitely worth it. the sight she was met with was rather beautiful, terrain rugged and harsh but that only added to its appeal, and nestled amongst it all a lake as placid as anything. however she tensed slightly at the sudden movement not too far away and eyes would narrow at a dark form, she hadn't realised she wasn't alone. a mistake on her part, she shouldn't let down her guard like that. a closer inspection had her realising she recognised him, they'd only met briefly but he'd hunted with her pack and now, well now he was with them. still, this was neutral lands and she wasn't in the mood to be political so although her eyes remained wary and her muscles tensed lightly under her pelt; she'd venture a "heyto see if he felt the same way.

Malcanthet enjoyed the view he had from the heights immensely. The feeling of the wind on his fur had been another addition to the sensory experience. Again and again, he questioned why Damien ignored this place altogether. Was he looking for a dark forest? Ridiculous. Here they could scout out to find their enemies and return to a safe place. The children could roam happily here.

He turned sharply at the voice, jolting as he broke from his little meditation. He scrutinized her for a moment but smiled when he finally recognized the woman. He knew that she was from Blackfeather Woods, but he greeted her with a smile and said Hey you, as if she were an old friend. Even though he was now of the Melonii pack, he lacked the malice that both factions reserved for each other. He wasn't sure if he hated anyone. Malcanthet was a Melonii through and through, but he could not bring himself to hate the Meloniis who now lived in Blackfeather Woods. He was not knowledgeable enough about their history to know who should own the Woods. He supposed it was Damien, as he was the son of Meldresi, but who were the others?

He was not a traitor however, so despite his sympathies he could not bring himself to betray the pack he pledged himself to. If she became hostile he would fight to the best of his abilities. Something wrong? he cocked his head at her. He saw no reason to be hostile. Sure, she was a bit close to their new home at the moment, but he doubted she came here for the explicit purpose of tracking them down. They were still on neutral ground.

not only did he seem unfazed by her appearance, he greeted her almost warmly. she'd quirk a brow at that but was honestly relieved, body relaxing slightly although unable to help shake her wariness completely. not yet anyway. taking his easy greeting as an invitation to stay, she'd pick her way slowly forward so that she now stood at a more normal distance from the dark boy. she studies him curiously now, dark eyes unwavering as they assess him, when he'd first arrived at her call for a hunt she could recall instantly thinking his combination of those pretty eyes and inky pelt reminded her slightly of ramsay. now he ran with damien's crew, either it was a weird coincidence or he was yet another of that troublesome family. and when she said troublesome she did also mean the ones residing under her trees too, it seemed the whole family had a flair for drama.

her gaze shifts to the large body of water, once again marvelling at its slice of calm beauty amongst the otherwise rugged terrain. there was just something so pleasing to the eye about the whole contrast of the two main features this place had to offer. she supposes she ought to say something, after all it was she who'd intruded on him first and then approached him but before she could he got in there first. the question caught her a bit off guard, it wasn't really what she'd expected to slip from his dark mouth and surprise flickered in hazel depths as her large eyes shift back to his face once more. a moment of thinking though has her realising that the question isn't that out of nowhere, she'd probably looked a bit ruffled upon seeing him first- n' here she was thinking he was asking about her issues. for some odd reason this brings a little amused smile to her creamy muzzle as her head shakes slightly; "not at all, just hadn't expected to run into anyone is allshe'd watch him steadily a few moments longer before looking away once more.

the breeze was stronger up here and she stretched out her neck leisurely so that the cool air ruffled through the thick fur. with a soft exhale she'd simply murmur "it's quite beautiful up here isn't it"
