All Welcome
iliksiis had been among the encampment for a few weeks now, keeping most to himself unless it suited him otherwise. he had noticed with some disappointment addison's scent had faded. perhaps some other man had plucked her from the creek and plunged himself into her -- if this was the case, iliksis was sorry he had not taken her sooner.

there were still other women in the clade, though none excited him as much as addison had. he liked women with fire - to him it was satisfying conquering that flame, and seeing his seed sow ruin among the embers. he would find some other soul to obsess over; first relmyna, then the girl, and now addison; chapters of a lusty life he had only half-lived.

it was particularly hard for him now that the herd was thinning; his good behavior was but a thin veneer of paint on a cracked and rotted foundation, and eventually, his patience would run dry and well... he might just find more than his teeth sinking into something.

It frightened her how everyone was vanishing. Two of the Odolf sisters had vanished, their scent trails leading elsewhere. Cyclone had also left them, apparently sick of how Addison treated her but Lilah had no sympathy, she had been dealt the same treatment quite often whenever she messed up. Dash had left, something that struck her and saddened her quite badly as she had really enjoyed the silly, light hearted man and had somewhat hoped they would be paired. Everyone was gone. She should have been happy for less competition for a husband but instead she was angry and sad. She was left here with the few remaining women, all gorgeous. Her brain pictured Prialux and Grayson, flirting and charming one another while she stood there forgotten. That was how it always seemed to be, she was the forgotten one, tossed aside.

She let loose a low growl, the very improper sound coming from her maw because she thought she was walking in an area without anyone nearby. Unfortunately as soon as she had she lifted her gaze and turned it just slightly, spotting Iliksis. She eyed him for a long moment, purple gaze staring through thick lashes. "I hope I didn't disturb you again. I thought I was alone" she said though the timidity and genuine apology in her tone from last time was gone, replaced with a bored and somewhat irritated tone that spoke of her inner thoughts and mood.

if an unexpected growl wasn't enough to signify moody she-wolf was coming right his way, the clipped tone of lilah's voice surely was. iliksis pulled from distracted doings, a long and slender ear canted aside in mild surprise.

he made sure that his expression, hungering as it was, was one of polite interest -- but the dull glimmer of want in his eye was painfully difficult to miss. she was no less nubile or attractive than she was last time - and once again, they were alone.

he blinked, chasing such tempting thoughts quickly from his vile mind. patience would reward him soon enough. steeling himself long enough to pull his prowling gaze away from her, iliksis humored her with a pleased purl: "would you like to be?"

Politely she stood there as he seemed to study her though she wasn't naive enough to miss the gleam of desire that had snuck it's way into his gaze. It triggered something within her, something feminine and coy that she knew better than to let out. Or at least she knew she shouldn't let it out. If Grayson and Prialux could flirt and charm without a single care in the world for anyone else or what was proper why should she hold herself back from having some fun?

So when he kindly offered her a chance to leave to be alone, she took a step closer and shook her head slowly "It's been lonely around here. Everyone just...vanished. Besides....We havent really interacted. How about we get to know one another?" there was a subtle tone on the suggestion that ended her sentence, a flirtatious one and her lips quirked upward ever so slightly.

the wraith noted the change in the female; the upward curve of her flirty smile, the fleeting coy glint in her gaze. he looked about them warily, as if half-expecting grayson to emerge at any moment.

yet the male had tempered his instinct down to its absolute essence, wheedling away his basal desires in his weeks of solitude. poised as he was, he would not strike -- the cobra's fangs remained sheathed despite the alluring vixen in front of him. he had worked too hard to conceal his true nature here - he would not blow it now -- not yet.

but it was torture to glance upon her and know what he could do to her - and how easily he could disguise it. he answered the smile with a flat grin of his own, deciding he could humor her for now. "what would you like to know?"

She wasn't sure that her flirtation would be wanted when he remained silent for such a long stretch of time. She also wasn't sure that this was a good idea anymore, as he seemed to be analyzing her every move. There was something so tense, so practiced about the way he acted but she couldn't pinpoint it and she wondered if maybe she was just reading too much into things. Then he smiled but even that came across oddly, there seemed to be absolutely no emotion behind it, no brightness, no warmth. It was as if something invisible had simply pulled the corners of his lips up yet he was still truly carrying a serious, blank expression on the inside. She swallowed quickly, suddenly wanting to leave but out of the desire to be polite she thought about a question. "Well....You don't seem like our type. The Rosings type. All....Gallant and Confident and wanting a wife to feed and have look pretty by your side. you're really...quiet i've noticed. stick around one spot alot. So...what brings you here?" she asked curiously, hoping she wasn't pushing any privacy limits he had.

iliksis noticed lilah faltering. the quick sweep of her gaze, the brief note of suspicion -- he had seen it all before, and cursed his inability to act in a more convincing manner. he vowed to be careful around her -- perhaps she was sharper than the others.. or perhaps, simply more shrewdly emotionally connected. he did not make an effort then to further convince her -- he had learned long ago that most women kept whatever impression of an individual they first had.

men, often, seemed slower to trust their instincts. perhaps they were dumber -- or perhaps, lacked the same callous crucible women were often subjected to.

he was amused to hear she had assigned him a type other than 'rosings' material -- whatever that meant to him was little, though the sylph went onto elaborate. he was none of the things she had mentioned, and he took note of that with an insincere smile. "so, that is your type, then..? and how has that worked out for you?"

He responded by diverting the subject and turning questions on her, which made things confusing and uncomfortable. Her type? She thought over the things she had listed and was unsurprised that Grayson came to mind. Was he her type? Protective, Gallant, Strong, Wanted a pretty wife to be by his side.....a trophy...he wanted to use them. One by one the thoughts connected and she realised with horrible certainty that Grayson was using her to make himself look like a hero. He had saved a cowering, scared girl and continued to look after her, oh he must be such a good man. "It was. It is no longer." she replied curtly, her tone cutting and sharp.

"My type is Genuine. Honest. Kind. Not someone who pretends to be something they aren't. Not a user" She found a burning sensation rising within her gut and up her throat, a tenseness coming over her muscles. She was angry. "Please excuse me. Perhaps we can speak more some other time" she said this solely to be polite and after offering him a quick smile she turned and began to walk off, her tail lashing as she made her way toward the borders. She needed some air. Some non Rosings air.

flipping the conversation awkwardly was a specialty of iliksis' -- he was no stranger to diverting attention elsewhere. he found the more wolves paid attention to him, the quicker they saw him for what he really was. it was better then to keep the light away from his blackened personality.

he could not help the stab of satisfaction that flitted across his muzzle to see lilah shift uncomfortably. iliksis was sadistic through and through, and reveled in that brief whirl of discomfort he had caused. the traits she rattled off were all antithetical to iliksis' personality, but he kept his jaws closed -- she would find soon enough that the characteristics she sought existed in no singular man, ever.

rather abruptly, the woman excused herself. "sounds like your type is other women." iliksis observed, his words chasing after the woman's already fleeting backside.
