@Finn <3
Midnight in the Teekon Wilds had come and gone. Almost all of its creatures had been asleep for hours, though the dawn was yet a long way off from showing its bright, glowing face. Even the fireflies had crawled into their beds and shut off their buttz, leaving only the stars to share any light in the darkness. The world was still and quiet, barely even a whisper in the wind left to disturb the peace.
It was the perfect time for a wolf like Finley Blackthorn to be out running around like the crazy young creature she was.
She had been up for what seemed like hours, but it wasn't until the proverbial clock had struck midnight that she had figured out what the reason was for her to be up at all. Fin had never been one to enjoy her adventures as much alone as she did when she had a friend to experience them with, and thus step one of her mission had been born. Find a packmate.
Finley didn't know for sure as she burst into the area, but her doppleganger's scent was strong enough to suggest that if he wasn't there now, he had been very recently. She hadn't exactly been looking for him in particular (yes she had), but he was better than nothing on such an exciting night. Plus, he seemed like a pretty good candidate to not mind being woken up at two o'clock in the morning.
"Finn! Hey Finn! You around? You awake?" Finley barked into the darkness, completely oblivious to whatever creature might be nearby attempting to sleep, "Hey, get up! Finn? Finn? Hey, Finn! Get up! Get up get up get up get up get up! FINN! YO COME ON, GET UP GET UP GET UP!....." Aaaaand so on and so forth.

Sleep was sacred for a boy like Finn. It occupied a little spot on the shared altar the silver male had for his most precious things, right besides eating and a little below running. While his stunt double enjoyed staying up to gossip with the stars and the moon, Finn enjoyed the soft buzz of the night creatures. To him it was like a soothing lullaby.
Tonight's lullaby started with the orchestra of crickets, joined quickly by the low croaking of the toads and frogs and the distant yet strong cooing of prey birds who took the night as their cover. Slowly the boy's eyelids began to close over his olive eyes, and the inhaling and exhaling of the slumbering male became perfectly synchronized with the beat the numerous members of the choir had set.
But, oh!
Tonight's repertoire was different from the rest. A faint lull from a female's voice merged with the singing crickets and then as the seconds flew by it drowned out the owl's hoots until it finally interrupted the frog's solo.
Finn jerked from his sleep as soon as the voice --along with the owner of it-- hovered over him. He whipped his head to face her, expecting a fire to have covered the Plateu or a meteorite threatening to fall on them and squish them. But it was none of the above. He was greeted by the face of his doppleganger's; he gave an exaggerate sigh and blinked a couple of times to rid his eyes of their blurry pajamas.
Not that he minded being woken by a pretty face. In fact had it been a male or any other not-pretty individual he would've probably gone ballistic.
Mornin'he barked in between a yawn.
You better be here to bring me breakfast in bed, he joked while dedicating to her his first smile of the day.

It took Finley a moment to spot her male counterpart, but when she did, she was darting over to him in a flash to continue barking at him only now in his peacefully sleeping face. She took a step back only when his eyes fluttered open and he gave her a sleepy greeting. Her eyes narrowed as she scoffed playfully at his words. "Yeah, cause I'm that nice," she quipped at him in response.
"Come on, get your ass up! We have places to go and not a lot of time left; the sun'll be coming up in a few hours! Get going!" Fin pawed at the ground before him eagerly, resisting the urge to start shaking him. The need for him to get moving wasn't quite that dire, although as she had said, they only had a few hours. As long as he started moving in the following thirty seconds, they might just be able to skip over the physical assault altogether.
August 16, 2014, 09:19 PM
He allowed a small attempt-of-a yawn to slip from his lips as she made a funny retort about his previous remark.
A man can dream, he barked back, his voice groggy but appealing --in fact that was not completely a lie, even if his dream hadn't exactly consisted of her bringing him breakfast it did involve her; and that was too much to say already.
She kept prodding him to get up, telling him that they did not have enough time to fit all their activities into their tight scheddule --as if he were a celebrity.which he actually was in his brain She didn't even stop to question why hadn't he been taking refuge in a den rather than in the open, Finn wasn't proud to admit he had a thing against tight spaces.
He rolled from his side to his feet as she began pounding the dirt next to him, he would've hated if she took her little fist storm onto his side or stomach.
Alright, I'm up,he groaned while he shook a little of the debris that had stuck overnight from his beautiful platinum coat.
Where are we going first?, he asked while taking a step towards her, he had no doubt that they'd have more than one destination and he also knew that resisting was not an option.
August 20, 2014, 12:19 PM
Just as Fin was preparing herself to latch onto his ear and start dragging him to his feet, her counterpart rolled over and stood up all on his own like a big boy. Her reaction was actually reminiscent to how a mother would react to seeing her little boy standing up all on his own--abundantly more excited than probably anyone else would be to see it happen. She took a few steps backwards to give him space and to test to see if he was ready to follow. The sterling-swathed male did just as she wanted, uttering some sleepy words that should have been a clue that he wasn't quite ready to go.
Too bad Fin was not very good at picking up on subtle hints.
Great! Come on!she barked at him, soon after twisting on her heels and darting off at a quick run without a single trace of suspicion that he might not have immediately sped right after her.
If I had to guess how long it took them to reach their destination, I'd say like.. fifteen minutes? Assuming that wasn't a problem, fifteen minutes after Fin had launched herself into the unknown-to-other-Finn, the silver mockingbird finally slowed to a complete and abrupt stop in the center of a wide clearing. There was hardly an interruption to be seen on the field, just waves of grass that reached up just past her belly and rolled elegantly over smooth hills until crashing into a backdrop of dark trees and even darker and more distant mountains far off towards the horizon.
Finley panted evenly as her gaze swept across the plains, a grin dancing across her muzzle.
Now we're talkin',she said mostly to herself, but not nearly quiet enough that it would be missed by Finn's ears (assuming she hadn't left him miles and miles behind, unwittingly). Not even looking to make sure he had made it and wasn't passed out beside her or anything like that, she plopped down onto her haunches, lifted her silky chocolate eyes to the sky and waited, smiling broadly and wagging her tail all the while.

that table makes me happy
For every retreating step the girl took, the male took one towards her; like magnets pulling towards each other or like a prowling tiger approaching his dinner, Finn couldn't help but to draw near to her. She was magnetic, as if she had the force of lightning running through her veins, pulling him to her like a puppy-dog on a leash.
She squealed again in exciment and the boy gave a delighted laugh in return, he wanted to tell her to calm down, to stop having whatever it was she was having for breakfast but she didn't give him a chance. She spun around and took off without an explanation or even a hint of where their destination would be. He swallowed
the words she had left served on his tongue, and bolted after her.
He had more trouble than he cared to admit keeping up with the small silver female, she flew over the land like a rocket while the boy, having no idea where she was headed often had to stop abruptly because she changed route. Finally she came to a stop and the young boy behind her trotted lightly to stand at her side right at the same time a murmur left her mouth.
If it had been a race, he would've had to call out her cheat, she was slimmer and more agile than the platinum male plus she had the advantage of knowing where the finish line was. Once they were side by side, Finn rose his head to admire the gorgeous view in between panting to recover his breath. Then she tumbled onto the satin rug of grass, her handsome companion plopped next to her, rolling to his back and turning his face to her.
His olive eyes got lost while tracing the outline of her face and his lips twisted into a broad smile while he was engulfed in the fine sea of green.
August 27, 2014, 12:12 PM
inorite?? ^^
They could not have asked for a better night than this. There wasn't a cloud to be seen from miles, leaving them with an unmarred view of what seemed like the entire galaxy. It was so gorgeous, Finley had a hard time tearing her gaze away from it. She couldn't ignore the soft thump at her side that told her Finn had arrived, however. Especially since it sounded like he was getting ready for a nap.
You better not be going back to sleep. Once one comes by, we're going to have to be quick to chase after it and I will leave your ass behind,Fin told him with just a hint of humor in her voice. She glanced at him only briefly as she spoke, but something in his face caused her to do a double take. The sterling eta turned her gaze to him fully, canting her head in curiosity as a small smile flitted across her lips.
What're you looking at me like that for, you weirdy?
August 27, 2014, 09:07 PM
The beaming chandelier the stars created over their head was like the cherry on top of the ice-cream. Innevitably it added a bit of romance to their little late night stargazing trip. She still didn't turn to him, as he laid next to her lithe platinumn body. She issued a warning that earned nothing but an overly exaggerated groan from the boy's lips.
Chase it?, he thought after her words had already faded into the cold air of the night, chase what? he wondered as he met his doppleganger's gaze as she turned. Maybe it was the fact that his sleep had been interrupted, but something, like cotton balls inside his ears was blocking the sound and blurring the girl's words. Only did he decipher her question after staring at her intently for a good couple of seconds.
He blinked rapidly as forced his eyes to look away, only to dart back to her a moment later. This time a wide grin hung from his face,
Why'd you bring me here, you... strange-yhe barked slowly while a lame chuckle escaped from his lips. He then squinted his eyes at the girl as if he was reading some small print reading across her forehead the warning label maybe?. He craned his neck and gave thoughtful hmm
You've got a little something on your...he trailed off while struggling to keep a spur of laughter from flooding his throat.
August 28, 2014, 09:00 PM
Finley rolled her eyes at his response. How could he not know what they were doing? He was totally pulling her leg. I mean, who came to an empty field in the middle of a clear, star-filled night and didn't do what they were about to be doing. Come on. Seriously.
His next comment caused her to furrow her brows and shake her head. He was messing with her again. Fin stood her ground for probably around twenty seconds before she lifted a compulsive paw to her face to rub across her eyes, nose and cheeks. She shook her head as she set her foot upon the ground again, turning her attention again skyward.
Shutup, you're so full of crap; I'm flawless, she quipped at him.
The stars twinkled innocently above, which probably would've made others happy, but Fin was actually growing rather frustrated. She sighed as a single corner of her lip pulled backwards, her eyes suddenly switching her gaze again to her companion.
How do you not know what we're doing by now?
September 04, 2014, 06:58 PM
Call him stupid or ignorant, or simply narrow-minded; whatever you chose to call him it was true he didn't have the most minimal idea of what they were there for, laying side by side with their eyes pointing to the sky. Was she waiting for the million diamonds lined on the dark canvas of the sky to start some kinf of dance? Finn had never been one to admire his surroundings, or at least not as closely as his father.
Then as he melted his olive eyes in the chololately sea of her orbs she cut the moment's wings and rubbed the attempt to flirt with her off her face. A little rush of air exited his lips in the form of a sigh, hadn't she seen the sparkle in his eyes, was she blind to the charm they shared or was it just in his mind. He didn't have time to decide before she spoke again, her voice pulling him in again.
He blinked at her with a blank expression, he noted the tone of frustration lined with her words, would she fast-forward this moment? The one Finn would give anything to freeze and live in forever?
Waiting for the sun?,he guessed wildly, his gaze not faltering for a moment.
September 07, 2014, 09:12 PM
Fin watched her friend closely, still curious about what was running through his mind in that moment. Considering their current situation, Finley was probably the one who was stupid and ignorant. She somehow was failing to grasp the romance of the moment, even though she could admit that there was something odd stirring in her stomach. She shifted her gaze back up to the heavens, deciding it was some sort of indigestion.
His response brought a smirk to her face. Fin shook her head lightly, rolling her eyes at him. She supposed that maybe she was being a little presumptuous in expecting him to know what they were doing. After all, they hadn't even seen one yet...
But suddenly, that changed. Just as she was turning to explain to him what they were doing, something in the sky caught her attention. She leaped to her feet with a burst of energy as the star shot across the night sky. Her tail waved like a banner at her haunches as she turned swiftly to Finn.
Hurry!! Get up! Let's get going!she barked at him as a huge smile lit up her face. And then she was off again, running as quickly as she could in the direction the star had fallen.

did she just friendzone him xD
With a small sigh, Finn admired her innocence quietly, if she didn't notice (or pretended not to) it must be because she was not seeking that kind of relation in him. Anyways, he continued to run his eyes down the outlines of her cheeks when she turned once more to look at the dark mantle of the sky.
After his initial idea of what they were up to was shot down, the silver male couldn't resist to give a thoughtful hmmp, but just as he opened his mouth to demand the seemingly obvious answer she sprung to her paws with her eyes filled of excitement. He pulled himself up as well, his eyes darting from side to side thinking they were being ambushed or that what she had seen was hiding behind the shadows.
Again, before he could ask anything she vanished into thin air, leaving him nothing but the pretty sight of her tail sticking in the air as she disappeared. Confused and a bit startled he glanced to the sky, where the fleeing figure of a star gave him the answer. He inmidiately took of after her, his paws tearing the ground as he tried to catch up with her and with the falling piece of heaven that flashed above them.
He felt a sudden urge to speed past her, as if his only mission in the world right now was to catch the falling diamond to give it to her.
September 08, 2014, 05:25 PM
As she ran, her ears swiveled on her head to listen for the footsteps of her BEST FRIEND EVER SUPER FRIEND (I can't help myself). She smiled, happy that he had gotten the hint so quickly and joined the race. She had gone on a venture like this by herself before and it had been quite fun, but everything was always better with a companion. It didn't occur to her to wonder at why he was so quick to join her without question. For someone who so coveted the admiration of others, she could be quite thick when it came to realizing that it was happening.
The Finns ran and ran until the silver mockingbird finally decided that they had gone far enough and she came to a sudden stop. Immediately, her eyes went skyward again. She was panting heavily as she stood, but even so in a moment she was ready to spring again after the next star. Fin glanced over her shoulder to see where Finn had gotten to, but was quick to return her gaze to the heavens. She had gotten a taste of the hunt and she was too excited now to chance missing the next shoot star.
You still with me, Finn?she asked through her heavy breaths, never moving her gaze away from the targets.

He loved the way his paws crashed quickly against the earth, tearing up the ground as he went. His olive eyed were still glued to the bright light that raced through the sky, he wished he could grow wings and catch it for her but really no matter how fast he was he could never catch the falling star that had probably a million light-years to its advantage.
Finally, when the last bit of air left his lungs he came to a stop beside her, his body positioned close to hers but his eyes still fixated on the little line that the falling star left before vanishing again into nothing. He allowed his tongue to slide from his mouth as he. tried to recover his breath. Even if the chase had been short-lived the platinum man had to admit it had been thrilling. Just like when he spent time with her, the run had left him with a pumping heart and an electric feeling in his muscles.
Always,he confirmed between jagged breaths, shifting his eyes momentarily from the starry chandelier that hung above them to her.
September 10, 2014, 09:31 AM
Finley's tongue rolled out of her mouth as her chest heaved from the effort of catching her breath. She turned to look at Finn, grinning with satisfaction that he was just as worn out as she was, though even more that he looked like he was ready to go again. That would be good because they still had a decent amount of time left before the sun came up and the game was over. She swept her gaze across the sky, part of her hoping that another star would go shooting across and and the chase would be on again, and another part hoping they had a little more time to catch their breath.
"I used to do this with my dad," she said after a moment, a faint smile touching her face as the memory played in her mind, "He always said that wherever we ended up by the morning would be a magical place--a place where something beautiful would occur or where something magical could be found." Fin had never known what to expect when the game ended. Usually it involved curling up within his warm embrace and falling asleep. When she was really young, he was able to fool her by saying a stick that they found at the end was a magic stick that granted wishes. Or a tree that sometimes came to life and could answer any question. "We ended up in the middle of a river once. And he told me the fish there could sing."
She turned then to look at her companion, her eyes catching onto those of sunlit ferns. "It was just him humming. He totally got me, though," she added with a gentle laugh, "The asshole." She shook her head and looked back to the sky fondly.
September 10, 2014, 02:06 PM
Their eyes connected for less than a second, but that brief moment was enough for him to recognize a part in his heart he had never felt before. As if a room with no windows had received the faintest flicker of light for the first time. The corners of his lips curled into one of his signature hollywood boy smiles, charming yet meaningful this time.
That until a certain word he had never used was mentioned. Finn watched her attentively as she brought back the memories of her childhood, he could've sworn he saw the scene reflected in her brown eyes. For a moment he wondered if she could also read his eyes with such ease, if so did she see the emptiness that the word dad brought along? Though the wounds of having a phantom father had healed a bit, speaking of the subject still stung the young male. He hadn't even known his name; the only thing he had was a vague image of his face. Large and freckled, with kind amber eyes.
At the end of her story, Finn was tempted to allow his own memories (or lack of thereof) of his father slide of his chest. He had been carrying that burden for so long it had almost become part of his skin --as if he had worn an armor every time his past was questioned.
I'd tell you a story of my own but I don't really have one,he barked, and I don't have a father either, he added silently in his mind, the light in his eyes fading slowly.
September 11, 2014, 08:56 AM
As Fin told her story, she hadn't been paying too much attention to how her doppleganger was reacting to it. Now that she had closed her mouth and his was the voice that filled the quiet, she could sense a melancholy on him that she never had before. She gazed at him quietly for a moment, wondering what it was that was causing the fade of spirits. Fin did not ask, though. She was an avoider. Negative emotions and the awkward situations that arose from them were not her thing. She didn't know how to approach them and she had no idea what to say or do when she found herself in them. So, she kept her distance from all of that as best as she could.
"Make one up, then," Fin suggested light-heartedly, giving the man a smile and bumping her shoulder against his as though to knock him out of whatever funk was settling in. "I'll get you started... This one time, I was........" Fin paused and gave him a pointed glance, hoping he'd get that he was supposed to be filling in the blanks, "....when I ran into this..............." Another glance, "And I was so.............." One more! "....That I ran away with my tail tucked between my legs, crying like a little bitch." Fin finished with a goofy grin.
September 15, 2014, 08:12 PM
He wouldn't have blamed her if she had dismissed the subject inmediately, if it were him listening to another sob like he had he would've most likely shrugged it of with a feigned laugh. But she hadn't. She had seen the melancholy dripping from his mouth, wrapped around every painful breath he took and later exhaled.
But oh, that smile!
Not even the sting of his gloomy childhood memories could make him resist to that smile. He felt his olive eyes melt in the chocolate-ly abyss of her own as she prodded him softly to create his own memory. He shot back one of his hollywood perfect smiles and raised an eyebrow with a mischiveous expression.
Alright, let's see,, he mused while flicking the tip of his tail lightly,
This one time, I was just walking around, looking cool and hot --like I always dohe began,
when I ran into this, little silver female that had the greatest eyes and a meh butt,he teased with a grin. Truth was her butt was far from being meh.
And I was so psyched to meet her until I realized she was a total weirdo that chased stars out of boredom,he continued, his eyes softening and his voice flowing out sweetly like honey,
But despite all that, she was so cute, that I ran away with my tail tucked between my legs, crying like a little bitchhe finished. Somehow his heart had found its way up his throat and the fur along his back had pricked as if he were just touched by a ghost.
A ghost called love.
September 17, 2014, 11:50 AM
Finley laughed despite herself at the memory her counterpart built. It was not what she had expected, but carried the flirtatious tones that she had come to expect of him. The mockingbird wasn't quite certain what to make of this man who shared her name and fur color. He was similar to many other men in ways--the dashing smile, easy charm, and the way he used both to work one over on her. But there was something else there that she couldn't quite place. He was clearly more than the show he put on for her, but there was something more earnest, more honest about the way he treated her that in truth just confused the hell out of her, even though anyone else could probably see it.
"Not bad," Fin replied with a smirk, "A little flawed in places--particular the part where 'meh' was used--but I'll take it." She chuckled gently as her gaze trickled back to the stars, and just in time. Another spurt of light went shooting across the sky to the East of where they had been previously heading. Fin leaned excitedly over to nudge her doppleganger with her muzzle before leaping to her paws and beginning round two of the chase.

(This post was last modified: September 18, 2014, 03:27 PM by Finn.)
gahh fin gets like no hints xD it's frustrating and adorable at the same time
Pleased with his quick and clever response, the platinum rocket-boy lifted his chin in triumph, then as she laughed he looked at her ever so subtly from the corner of her eye. She awknowledged his witty response, not without filing a complain about the mention of her bum in the story. The male chuckled lightly and tipped his head towards her, giving a small shrug as an apology.
Just like that, she looked away, throwing her head back while her eyes danced with the stars. He kept his eyes on her though, admiring the shimmery highlights the moon traced across her silvery coat. The moment was soon gone after another flashing light raced above them. In less than a second Fin nudged his shoulder and jumped, only to be gone with the star.
September 22, 2014, 07:14 PM
Lol if it helps, she frustrates me too x]
Had Fin had any idea that she was frustrating the poor young man, she would have been absolutely delighted with herself. As it was, she was innocently oblivious, convinced that any light in those eyes was simple lust, and any stronger than average feeling she had towards him was indigestion.
When the strength in her legs was ready to give out on her completely, that's when the Blackthorn finally stopped. She stood for only a moment with shaking legs before she flopped down onto her belly upon the grass. She was panting heavily, but smiling all the same as her gaze slipped up to the sky again.
She felt Finn settle down upon the ground beside her, and unwitting the silver girl leaned against him. A yawn escaped her already parted jaws and she licked her lips as her heart finally settled down within her chest. "I think it's beginning to occur to me just how late and or early it is..." Fin said, failing to stifle yet another yawn. She turned to blink blearily at her doppleganger.
September 26, 2014, 10:01 PM
This time it took more time for the man to catch up to her, because as she darted after the star, he remained glued to the ground. The same pain that's felt when prey escapes from grasp filled his chest. She was gone again, leaving him to think if maybe he would never be as good as the stars she so clearly loved.
Eventually, he took off after her, following her track until finding her stretched in the floor, her eyes again glued to the celestial bodies that were literally outshining his charms. Slowly he allowed himself to fall next to her, he was quiet, even when she pressed her head upon his shoulder.
Like a sleepy pup, she blinked and smacked her lips, her eyelids being dragged down by the exhaustion.
First to fall asleep winshe whispered, suspecting that she would be unable to turn down his challenge.
And no snoring allowedhe added then, a mischiveous smile shining on his muzzle before he lowered his head onto his paws.
September 27, 2014, 05:35 PM
Finley blinked slowly, a smile drifting across her lips at that wit of his that she
"You know I'll win, I always do," Fin quipped back to the sterling Ollivander, "And I don't snore. I'm beautiful. Beautiful wolves don't snore." And that was the end of that (even though in twenty minutes, she'd be snoring like an angry bear).
"Will you do something for me?" she asked as her eyelids fell shut, not to open again until morning. "Let's just pretend we stayed up all night and found that place the stars were trying to take us to... Will you tell me what we found there?"
i love this thread with my heart but it should be wrapped up so last post for Finn
As cliche as it might've sounded, the second her flank brushed against his a wave of lightning ran through his vertebrae, making his blood turn to ice for a second. The little pressure she exerted against his shoulder ignited parts of him he had never been aware of before.
You win because I let youhe barked softly, with a smug smile hanging on his face. Any minute now she'd be yelling at him to shut his mouth, and to finally admit that that he was a sucker for her. The thought made his smile even brighter, though never as bright as the twinkling star-like dots that popped ocassionally over their heads -- or maybe they were just fireflies. He was to tired to know.
With a yawn, he allowed his eyelids to drape over his eyes, only to open once more as she mumbled a request. After she was done, he blinked thoughtfully at one of the mysterious shining dots that flew over his head.
When we got there.. man it was beautifulhe began, his words almost slurring,
It had your favorite flowers, and all around us were the stars that we chased, they were on the ground now. And they all had these different faces, they were all congratulating us for finally reaching them. It turns out they weren't leading us to any specific place, they were just waiting to be found --by you; ushe continued, his eyelids beginning to fall over his eyes once more.
We caught themhe barked at last -- it was not the most interesting story but it was the first that had occured to him.
Then without waiting for an answer he twisted his head to press his nose against her fur, a silent goodnight that felt like a combustion of stars inside his chest.

Finn could have argued all he wanted on the matter, Finley would fall sound asleep while he kept himself awake trying to fight her. A smile slipped across her lips at the thought, and then at his quip about "letting her". It pleased her that he made special concessions for her, for she liked to think that he didn't make them for just anyone. What it could mean that he did, she didn't dig too deep into her thoughts to figure out. She'd only look at the surface--that she was pretty, and that made her special.
Finley was already drifting off to sleep when her companion began his story. While she lingered in that space between, just before true sleep took her, his story sent images to her mind that shortly became her dreams. Shining, glowing balls of light, smiling around her and dancing for her, all vying for her attention. And then there was Finn, standing there smiling that charming little smile of his, outshining them all. It was to him that she went, passing straight by all of the stars in the world to be nearer to him.
And then the dream got naughty *giggle*
