want to wrap this up soon?

To his pleasure, she moved to separate a sizeable chunk of meat from the body and invited him to do the same. Nox did not need to be asked twice, and soon the peaceful silence between them was filled with the sound of two allies enjoying a hearty, well-earned meal. Hungrily, he tore a strip of meat and gulped it down quickly before coming to answer Mictec's question. "Think I'll stick around. Maybe others will come along, maybe not. Either way, 's not too shabby o' a place for me."

Her company was enjoyable, their conversation and synergy something he would miss when she was gone. "What about yerself?" Noxir's expression softened slightly, curious to hear what she thought of her own future.

Mictec paused mid-bite, the question hanging in the air like the faint glow of the fading moonlight. She set her chunk of meat aside carefully, licking her maw clean before meeting Noxir's gaze. Her marigold eyes reflected a flicker of something beyond the firelight—a vision, a calling.

West, she murmured, her voice soft but resolute. I feel it in my bones, like the pull of a distant tide. There is something waiting for me there—something I am meant to find.

She turned her attention back to Noxir, a faint smile tugging at her lips. This place may be good for you, and I’m glad for it. But for me, the journey isn’t over. Not yet.

With a slow, deliberate breath, Mictec resumed her meal, but her mind was already wandering westward, toward the unknown that called her name.

yeah I imagine our tale is coming to an end!

can't wait to see her lead a pack soon! they should meet again someday ehe

West.

This land was unfamiliar to him, its coasts different, its wolves different. As far as he knew, what lay west was more of the same unexplored rugged cliffs and sweeping beaches that had greeted him on his journey south. "Ay, I felt somethin' like that too when I came here first." The pull of a distant tide, she called it; Nox found himself resonating with her comment. "I hope ye find what yer lookin' for soon."

His teeth worked the meat, levering his paws against the bone as more disappeared down his gullet. Already his body pulsed in a dull ache from the hunt, the last of the suns rays alighting his pelt in an unearthly fire serving only to deepen his relaxation. "Would ye stay the night?"

mictec’s gaze softened as she listened to nox, the firelight flickering across her marigold eyes. his words resonated with a quiet truth, and for a moment, she allowed herself to appreciate the simplicity of their shared meal and conversation.

she finished her portion of the meat, licking her maw clean before speaking. you’ve been generous, nox, she began, her tone steady but warm. i thank quetzalcoatl for bringing me here to have such an illuminating discussion. but night is when travel is best for me.

mictec rose to her paws, her movements fluid having the chance to consume a hearty meal. she regarded nox for a moment, her gaze holding a spark of gratitude. perhaps the winds will guide us to cross paths again. if they do, i would welcome it.

with that, she gave a slight dip of her head in farewell before turning toward the horizon. her steps were quiet but purposeful, the shadows of the forest embracing her as she melted into the fading light.

they definitely should! once the pack's are more established we can have a reunion! She has def grown sooo much that I think she will be a fair leader (until she finds a man to take over so she can do the more fun spiritual stuff :p)

love that for her!

Him? Generous? He supposed it was true. "Ach, ye got me. I ain't always this nice." The last of the meat was swallowed quickly as he shot Mictec a knowing smile, now content in her decision to depart. "Tell yer Quetzawhatsit," he let out a loud belch as she prepared to leave, "that I said thanks too."

For the hunt, the good meal, and the company. Although Nox did not believe in a higher power, it couldn't hurt to be looked down on favourably by the divine. Perhaps whoever was listening would send another his way.

His tail beat softly into the dirt at her final words. "Me too, yer always welcome back 'ere, y'know?" A thread of intrigue followed Mictec even as her figure disappeared into the gloom, one that would occupy his thoughts in the days and weeks to come. His jaws split as if to say more, but already she was gone. A yawn instead took the space where words once were as he reclined with a sigh, content and full, and lonely once again. The trees would soon see him fall into a dreamless sleep.
