Ever since Ty had come to The Sunspire, she had been listless, depressed, and reserved. Summer had stayed, and she had spent most nights with him—aside from the time he was away—being that he was one of the few things that could calm her nerves. Spring had been working its way through the Teekon Wilds, and Ty had actually begun to take notice. Where there was once mountains of snow, there were now only small piles of the white crunchy substance. Where there was once ice, there was now water. Prey was more and more abundant, and the young Redleaf-DiSarinno had started to come out of her hiding more and more each day.

Moving swiftly down the mountainside, with no more reason than feeling marginally better today, Tytonidae felt the wind blow across her charcoal fur, which had darkened significantly since she'd been a child. It was now even more difficult to tell where the dark grey ended and her black markings began. All that remained now was a very subtle difference in darkness on her tail and the patch on her chest.

She was so preoccupied with the positive vibe she was feeling that Ty nearly walked right over her sister. Instead of surprise, astonishment, or bewilderment, Tytonidae spoke in her characteristically slow, airy tone. "Osprey," she greeted, as if no more than a few hours had passed since they had last seen one another. "How have you been?"
