She couldn't begin to understand the reason for Summer's thanks, having done nothing to earn it, but the yearling accepted it nevertheless. She didn't need to know his reasons. She would've refuted them and in the end would have ended up seeming rude for it. Instead, she smiled at him as he turned to leave, stood there long enough to watch him disappear, and then headed back to her own home at the plateau.
