Redhawk Caldera you must become an island.

Elwood asked her to explain, and immediately Fin felt her gut wrench with guilt.  He hadn't seen this coming.  No matter what she'd told herself - they'd grown apart, he loved her so he knew she was wild and untameable, he too knew that being without her was the best thing for him... He had had no inclination that he was soon to lose her.  The tiny splinters of her heart shattered into even smaller pieces, and yet the cold determination won out when it came to the character that appeared outwardly.


"I mean, it's time I leave," she insisted, in a rather deadpan voice, "I've stayed too long already.  I mean, come on.. we both know I'm not made for.. commitment."  Every word felt sour upon her tongue.  None of them belonged there, but those were the only words she knew, so what else was she supposed to say?  Besides, this was for him.  No matter how much it hurt him, this was for him.  That was all Fin needed to focus on to get her through this, no matter how much it destroyed her.
