The youth smiled fleetingly at her godmother's success, though the smile vanished quickly when she saw the way Finley tried to hide her face. She seemed ashamed.

Whining under her breath, Wildfire pressed close against Finley's other side. "I should have brought some food," she thought aloud. She had grabbed something for Roz, so why hadn't she also snatched up something for Finley? She had been in a rush at the time and every single second had counted. It didn't stop her from kicking herself now. "I can try to find something, if you think it would help your strength, Aunt Flea."
