Finley realized a little too late that her audience had not been to most attentive.  A teensy bit of disappointment crept in when she did notice the look of worried disinterest on her goddaughter's face, but she knew the girl couldn't help it.  Things clearly had not gone the way she'd intended in the previous conversation and given that she hadn't actually made up her mind yet, she probably had plenty more than she'd wanted to think about.

Eljay stole her attention back after a moment, causing Fin to dip her muzzle down towards him and away from Wildfire.  Her gut reaction was to bluntly tell him "No", that magic wasn't real at all.  Maybe if things weren't so broken in her family right now, she might have still been the sort of wolf who would have done so, unapologetically.  But, she didn't have the heart to potentially break his again, and instead she just nodded to placate him.  "The world's full of it if you know where to look," she told him with a tired smile.
